To verify software validity, perform the software sum check. To perform the software sum check press PMS CDU STS/TEST key, press line select switch 1, and then key in 0, 1, 0, 0, 0. Observe PMS CDU, and verify for the software sum check that the CDU display appears as shown below; with respect to the applicable computer unit software part number (P/N).

For software P/N 7891910-005, verify that CDU display for sum check appears as follows:

(b)
For software P/N 7891910-009, verify that CDU display for sum check appears as follows:

L. Alternate Engine Rating Configuration

(2) On IB airplanes to check the Alternate Engine Rating configuration; press T/O DRY key on LSP, and then press ENG LIM key on the CDU. Push CDU slew switch momentarily to FWD position to advance display to ENG LIM T/O DRY.....2/3 page. Verify that the CDU display appears as follows:

RTG1 7F WET ?
RTG2 7 DRY ?
(Verification of program pins C50, C51, C52 and C53 on the PMS computer unit).
(3) On AF airplanes, to check the Alternate Engine Rating configuration; press T/O DRY key on LSP, and then press ENG LIM key on the CDU. Push CDU slew switch momentarily to FWD position to advance display to ENG LIM T/O DRY.....2/3 page. Verify that the CDU display appears as follows:
ENG LIM T/O DRY 2/3
FULL 50E2 SEL
RTG1 50E-4% ?
RTG2 50E-10% ?
(Verification of program pins C50, C51, C52 and C53 on the PMS computer unit).

Press CDU CLEAR key.

If the PMS is no longer required, restore airplane to normal.
M. Throttle Aft Limit Switch Configuration
(1)
If required prepare for test as described in paragraph D.
(2)
To check the throttle aft limit switch configuration; press PERF DATA key on the CDU. Push CDU slew switch momentarily to FWD position to advance display to PERF DATA ..... 3/4 page. Verify that the word 'ALS 4.' is displayed at the end of data line 2.
(Verification of program pin B21 on the PMS computer unit).

Press CDU CLEAR key.
(4)
If the PMS is no longer required, restore airplane to normal.
N. TAT Probe Configuration.
(1) If required prepare for test as described in paragraph D.

To check TAT probe configuration; press PERF DATA key on the CDU. Push CDU slew switch momentarily to FWD position and advance display to PERF DATA.....4/4 page. Verify that the word 'ASP *' is displayed at the end of data line 1.
(Verification of program pin B22 on the PMS computer unit).

Press CDU CLEAR key.
(4)
If the PMS is no longer required, restore airplane to normal.
O. Single/Dual PMS Installation.
(1)
If required prepare for test as described in paragraph D.
(2)
To check Single/Dual PMS installation; press PERF DATA key on the CDU. Push CDU slew switch momentarily to FWD position and advance display to PERF DATA.....4/4 page. Verify that the word 'MST' or 'SLV' are not displayed at the end of data line 2.
