(16)
Using the pneumatic test unit, simulate an airspeed of 130 knots on the Captain's airspeed indicator.
(17)
Set the A/T SPEED counter on the A/P-F/D MSP to 130 knots.
(18)
Press the SPEED mode switch (to select SPEED mode) on the F/O's A/T mode select panel, verify that:
(a)
SELECT is illuminated on both the Captain's and F/O's SPEED switches.
(b)
The TURB/SPEED switch reverts to the OFF position.
(c)
A/T Engage switch remains ON.
(d)
The FAST/SLOW pointer on each ADI is in view.
(19)
Place the TURB/SPEED switch to the PMS position, verify that:
(a)
The TURB/SPEED switch remains in the PMS position.
(b)
A/T Engage switch remains ON.
(c)
The SPEED SELECT switch annunciators extinguish, on both the Captain's and F/O's A/T mode select panels.
(20)
Repeat steps (1) thru (19) for the MACH mode, substituting the MACH mode switch for the SPEED mode switch.
(21)
Return the airplane pitot static system to ambient pressure, and disconnect the pneumatic test unit from the airplane pitot static system (Refer to 34-11-00).
(22)
Ensure that the following switches on the A/P-F/D MSP are in the positions shown:
Captain's and F/O's FLT DIR switches to ON
TURB/SPEED switch to PMS
Auto Throttle (A/T) Engage switch to ON
(23)
Verify that the FAST/SLOW pointer on each ADI is driven out of view.
(24)
Press the PMS CDU STS/TEST key. Press the CDU line select 1 key, verify the key illuminates.
(25)
Press the EPR mode switch (or N1 mode switch as applicable) on the F/O's A/T mode select panel. Verify that SELECT is illuminated on both the captain's and F/O's EPR switches (or N1 switches as applicable). Also verify that:
(a) The TURB/SPEED switch reverts to the OFF position.

(d)
Throttle levers move in the forward (advance) direction.
(26)
Press and hold the PMS CDU STS/TEST key. Verify that there is no movement of the throttle levers in the aft (retard) direction.
(27)
Release CDU STS/TEST key.
(28)
Return the following switches on the A/P-F/D MSP to the positions shown:
Captain's and F/O's FLT DIR switches to OFF
A/T Engage switch to OFF
(29)
Reset (extinguish) the A/T red warning lights by pressing an A/T disconnect switch on the throttle levers.
(30)
Position the throttle levers to the aft limit.
(31)
Close the GND SAFETY RELAY circuit breaker, to place the relay in the GND position.
(32) If the PMS is no longer required, restore airplane to normal. AU. Auto Mode Transition (PMS to ATS) at Altitude Capture.
(1) If required prepare for test as described in paragraph D.
(2) Ensure that all engines are not operating.
(3) Ensure that the trailing edge (TE) flaps and the leading edge (LE)
flaps are retracted to the full up position.
NOTE: For trailing edge flap operation refer to 27-51-00,____
Maintenance Practices. For leading edge flap operation
refer to 27-81-00, Maintenance Practices.
(4) Open LRRA-1 and LRRA-2 circuit breakers, to simulate a radio
altitude above 2500 feet, on LRRA-1 and LRRA-2 respectively.
(5) Ensure that present position latitude and longitude coordinates
are entered into each INS (Refer to 34-41). Verify that the mode
selector switch, on each INS MSU, is set to ALIGN.
(6) Ensure that gross weight of airplane is entered into the PMS.
(7) On IB airplanes,
select CRZ limit mode on the PMS limit select panel (LSP). Verify
that the PMS limit indicator (LI) displays CRZ and some value of
EPR limit (no dashes or blank display) indicating a valid EPR limit
condition.
(8) On AF airplanes,
select CRZ limit mode on the PMS limit select panel (LSP). Verify
that the PMS limit indicator (LI) displays CRZ and some value of
N1 limit (no dashes or blank display) indicating a valid N1 limit
condition.
