To gain access to section 3 below the compartment floor perform the following:
(a)
Remove the center cargo floor panel by disengaging eight fasteners.
(b)
Remove the right cargo floor panel by disengaging five fasteners.
(3)
Remove screws and lockwashers from flanges between sections 2 and 3.
(4)
Remove eight screws from bulkhead flange.
(5)
Remove screws and lockwashers from flanges between sections 3 and 4.

(6)
Remove two screws, two nuts and four washers securing section 3 aft waveguide tab to the aft support bracket.
(7)
Remove two screws, two nuts and four washers securing section 3 forward waveguide tab to the forward support bracket.
(8)
Place protective covers on exposed waveguide flanges.
(9)
Support section 3 and carefully pull section 3 forward through hole in bulkhead. Remove waveguide gaskets.
D. Remove reflectometer or waveguide section 4.
(1)
Perform step C(2) to remove the center and right cargo floor panels.
(2)
Remove four screws and lockwashers from flanges between section 3 and reflectometer or waveguide section 4.
(3)
Remove four screws and lockwashers from flanges between waveguide section 5 and reflectometer or waveguide section 4.
(4)
Remove reflectometer or waveguide section 4 and gaskets.
(5)
Place protective covers on exposed waveguide flanges.
E. Remove waveguide section 5.
(1)
Perform step C(2) to remove the center and right cargo floor panels.
(2)
Remove four screws and lockwashers from flanges between section 4 (or reflectometer) and section 5.
(3)
Remove four screws and lockwashers from section 5 flange that mates with the waveguide switch.
NOTE: Screws go through holes in the waveguide switch support

(4)
Remove waveguide section 5 and gaskets.
(5)
Place protective covers on exposed waveguide flanges.
10. Install Waveguide On All Passenger Airplanes (Fig. 401)

NOTE: Replace gaskets if they are defective.

A. Install waveguide section 1.
(1)
Open nose radome to gain access to waveguide section 1 (Ref 34-43-03).
(2)
Remove protective covers from waveguide flanges and antenna waveguide connections.
(3)
Connect waveguide section 1 to antenna using quick disconnect connector.
(4)
Install four screws and lockwashers in flanges between sections 1 and 2 with gasket.
(5)
Install support clamp and secure with two screws.
B. Install waveguide section 2.
(1)
Open nose radome to gain access to waveguide section 2 (Ref 34-43-03).
(2)
Remove protective covers from flanges.
(3)
Install four screws and lockwashers in flanges between sections 1 and 2 with gasket.
(4)
Install four screws and lockwashers in flanges between sections 2 and 3 with gasket.
(5)
Install support clamp and secure with 2 screws.

C. Install waveguide section 3. NOTE: Waveguide section 3 is installed in the right crawlway forward of

the main electronic equipment center and inside the nose radome.
To gain access to the part of waveguide section 3 in the nose
radome, open nose radome (Ref 34-43-03).
(1) Slide waveguide section 3 into airplane through hole in bulkhead.
(2) Remove protective covers from flanges.
(3) Support section 3 with the support clamps. Secure support clamps
with two screws and locknuts and four washers. Tighten support
clamp screws only enough to support the waveguide. Do not tighten
screws all the way.
(4) Install gasket on bulkhead and tighten 8 screws.
