 (8)
With mode switch to ANT, select BFO or TONE (on). A 1020 Hz signal should be heard along with the broadcast station audio.

 (9)
Turn BFO or TONE switch off.

 (10)
Tune ADF system to receive a known standard broadcast station in 550 kHz to 830 kHz range. Verify loud, clear reception of transmission.

 (11)
 Set mode switch to ADF.

 (12)
Check that both RMI's indicate in tolerance bearing to selected station.

 (13)
Repeat previous three steps using a known standard broadcast station in 830 kHz to 1750 kHz range.

 (14)
Repeat above procedures for second ADF system.  ADF system 1 drives narrow indicator needles and ADF system 2 drives wide needles.

 (15)
Make representative range and AM broadcast station frequency checks with both ADF systems operating. Check for erratic operation, crosstalk, unusual noise, and other irregularities not noticed in single system operation. Check that both systems function normally in ANT and ADF modes when both systems are tuned to different transmitting station frequencies.

 (16)
 Select ADF/ANT switch to ANT.

 (a)  With ANT mode selected, retune to zero beat and check that frequency readout on control panel checks within 1% of listed frequency for stations selected. Repeat with ADF mode selected.

 (17)
Tune ADF to an open frequency.  Set and hold mode selector switch to TEST and verify that applicable needle on both RMI's is 45 (|5) degrees to the left of the lubber line.

 (18)
Tune ADF to an open frequency.

 (19)
On AZ airplanes, press TEST pushbutton on ADF control panel and verify applicable needle on both RMI's is 45 (|5) degrees to the left of the lubber line.

 (20)
On ALL EXCEPT AZ airplanes, press TEST pushbutton on ADF receiver and verify applicable needle on both RMI's is 45 (|5) degrees to the left of the lubber line.

 (21)
On AT airplanes, select right position of TFR switch on control panel. Repeat steps (5) and on except use right frequency control knobs and readout indicator.

 (22)
Remove electrical power if no longer required (Ref 24-22-00).
