B. Prepare for Test
(1)
Apply aircraft power (Ref 24-22-00).
(2)
Ensure that all VOR/ILS systems are turned on (Ref 34-31-00).
(3)
Ensure that autopilot/flight director system is turned on (Ref 22-10-00).
(4)
Ensure that all low range radio altimeter systems are turned on (Ref 34-33-00).
(5)
Ensure that all inertial navigation systems are operating correctly in the NAV mode and that INS warning flags do not appear on related flight instruments (Ref 34-41-00).
(6)
Ensure that all magnetic heading reference sytems are operating correctly in the SLAVED mode and that compass warning flags do not appear on related flight instruments (Ref 34-21-00).
(7)
Position flight instruments switches as follows:
(a)
RADIO/INS switches to RADIO (VOR/ILS) position.
(b)
INS transfer switches so that captain operates from INS 1 and first officer operates from INS 2.
(c)
Compass transfer switches so that captain operates from MHRS 1 and first officer operates from MHRS 2.
(d)
Attitude transfer switches so that captain operates from INS 1 and first officer operates from INS 2. All MD, AT, and AF 121, 122, 157, 161, 183, 184; VOR/ILS transfer switches so that captain operates from VOR/ILS receiver 1 and first officer from VOR/ILS receiver 2.
(e)
Ensure captain's FLT DIR CMPTR source select switch is in the C position and the first officer's FLT DIR CMPTR source select switch is in the B position.
C. Test Central Instrument Warning System
(1)
Close all CIWS circuit breakers.
(2)
Press and hold captain's INST WARNING TEST switch. Captain's and first officer's INST WARN, ATT and MON lights should come on. INST WARN lights should flash approximately three times in 2 seconds.

the attitude comparator aural warning units should also cycle on
and off.
(3) Press captain's and then first officer's PUSH TO RESET. INST WARN
lights should go out. Also, ATT and MON lights should dim when
XA pressed. When released, lights should remain dim, and INST WARN
XA extinguished.
On AF ALL; AT ALL ; AZ ALL; GN ALL; MD ALL; SN ALL; VM ALL;
IB 406-499; LH 011-099; PLUS ATLAS AIRPLANES INCORPORATING
SB 34-2059,
the attitude comparator aural warning units should go off when the
PUSH TO RESET buttons are pressed.
(4) Release INST WARNING TEST switch. All the captain's and first
officer's annunciator lights should go out.
(5) Pull CIWS AC circuit breaker on flight instrument bus No. 2. Both
the captain's and first officer's MON lights should come on.
(6) Close CIWS AC circuit breaker. Both MON lights should go out.
(7) Repeat steps (2) through (4) for first officer's test switch.
D. Restore Airplane to Normal
(1) Set master radio switches to OFF if power is no longer required.
(2) Remove electrical power if no longer required (Ref 24-22-00).
