 XA (c) Using pitot static test set, set an altitude of 500 feet. XA Reduce the barometric altitude to 440 feet.
 Check that GPWS indicator illuminates, and the aural warning consisting of WHOOP WHOOP PULL UP occurs.
 NOTE: The GPWS visual and PULL UP aural warning referred to
____ as GPWS warning from here on.
 (d)  Return barometric altitude to 500 feet. Check that GPWS warning goes off.
 XA NOTE:____On AF ALL; GN ALL; MD ALL; VM ALL, the time required for the GPWS warnings to cease is a direct function of the time the descent rate continued after the warning was initiated.
 XA  (e) Reset barometic altitude to 440 feet. Check that GPWS
 warnings come on.
 (f) Increase radio altitude to 1200 feet. Check that warnings
 go off.
 XA  (4)  AT701 ONLY;
 XA  Test Take Off Descent Warning.
 XA  (a) Using pitot static test set, set an altitude such that a
 XA  descent rate of 300 feet per minute may be maintained.
 XA  (b) Using radio altimeter test set, simulate a 0 feet radio
 XA  altitude for a minimum of 2 seconds.
 XA  (c) Verify that inboard trailing edge flaps are set at 20 degrees.
 XA  (d) Verify that VHF NAV No. 1 is tuned to a VOR frequency.
 XA  (e) Set landing gear selector to OFF position and radio altitude to
 XA  200 feet
 XA  (f) Simulate a barometric altitude sink rate of 300 feet per
 XA  minute. Check that PULL UP indicator and WHOOP WHOOP PULL UP
 XA  aural warning turn on.
 XA  NOTE: The PULL UP visual and WHOOP WHOOP PULL UP aural____
 XA  warning shall henceforth be referred to as the GPWS
 XA  warnings.
 XA  (g) Return barometric sink rate to 0 feet per minute. Check that
 XA  GPWS warnings turn off.
 XA  (h) Reset barometric sink rate to 300 feet per minute. Check that
 XA  GPWS warnings turn off.
 XA  (i) Increase radio altitude to 1200 feet. Check that warnings go
 XA  off.
 XA  (5)  Test Terrain Clearance (Mode 4) (and stall warning inhibition)
 (a) Verify that CADC No. 1 altitude rate is set at 0 feet per
 minute.

 (b) Set radio altitude to 1200 feet.
 (c) Verify that landing gear selector is set at OFF.
 (d) Verify that the inboard trailing edge flaps are set at 20
 degrees.
 (e) Decrease radio altitude. Check that GPWS warnings come on at
 approximately 500 feet.
 (f) Set landing gear selector to DN position. Check that GPWS
 warnings goes off.
 (g) Decrease radio altitude. Check that GPWS warnings come on at
 approximately 200 feet.
 (h) Depress SET TEST knob on captain's LRRA height indicator.
 Check that GPWS warnings go out. Release TEST knob and check
 GPWS warnings come on.
 (i) On all except AF 121, 122, 157, 161, 183, 184;
 press and hold TEST switch on stall warning module located on
 overhead panel. Check that:
 1) Control column shaker operates.
 2) GPWS warning ceases (on GN and AF airplanes incorporating
 SB 34-2171, GPWS warning occurs).
 3) Release TEST switch. Check that GPWS warning occurs.
 (j) Set inboard trailing edge flaps to 25 degrees or more. Check
 that GPWS warnings go off.
 (k) Increase radio altitude to 2000 feet. Check that the GPWS
 warnings remain off.
 XA  (6)  Test Excessive Sink Rate Warning (Mode 1)
 (a) Using pitot static test set, set a barometric altitude such
 that a descent rate of 4500 |500 feet per minute may be
 initiated.
 (b) Simulate a 2000 feet radio altitude.
 (c) Verify that landing gear selector is set at OFF.
 (d) Verify that inboard trailing edge flaps are set at 20 degrees
 or less.
 (e) Verify that VHF NAV No. 1 is tuned to a VOR frequency.
 (f) Simulate a barometric altitude sink rate of 4500 |500 feet
 per minute. Check that GPWS warnings come on.
 (g) Return sink rate to 0 feet per minute. Check that GPWS
 warning goes off.
 XA  (7)  Test Closure Warning (Mode 2)
 (a) Simulate a radio altitude of 2200 feet.
 (b) Rapidly reduce simulated radio altitude at a rate between
 2800 and 4000 feet per minute.
