(b) Set radio altitude to 1200 feet.
(c) Verify that landing gear selector is set at OFF.
(d) Verify that the inboard trailing edge flaps are set at 20
degrees.
(e) Decrease radio altitude. Check that GPWS warnings come on at
approximately 500 feet.
(f) Set landing gear selector to DN position. Check that GPWS
warnings goes off.
(g) Decrease radio altitude. Check that GPWS warnings come on at
approximately 200 feet.
(h) Depress SET TEST knob on captain's LRRA height indicator.
Check that GPWS warnings go out. Release TEST knob and check
GPWS warnings come on.
(i) On all except AF 121, 122, 157, 161, 183, 184;
press and hold TEST switch on stall warning module located on
overhead panel. Check that:
1) Control column shaker operates.
2) GPWS warning ceases (on GN and AF airplanes incorporating
SB 34-2171, GPWS warning occurs).
3) Release TEST switch. Check that GPWS warning occurs.
(j) Set inboard trailing edge flaps to 25 degrees or more. Check
that GPWS warnings go off.
(k) Increase radio altitude to 2000 feet. Check that the GPWS
warnings remain off.
XA (6) Test Excessive Sink Rate Warning (Mode 1)
(a) Using pitot static test set, set a barometric altitude such
that a descent rate of 4500 |500 feet per minute may be
initiated.
(b) Simulate a 2000 feet radio altitude.
(c) Verify that landing gear selector is set at OFF.
(d) Verify that inboard trailing edge flaps are set at 20 degrees
or less.
(e) Verify that VHF NAV No. 1 is tuned to a VOR frequency.
(f) Simulate a barometric altitude sink rate of 4500 |500 feet
per minute. Check that GPWS warnings come on.
(g) Return sink rate to 0 feet per minute. Check that GPWS
warning goes off.
XA (7) Test Closure Warning (Mode 2)
(a) Simulate a radio altitude of 2200 feet.
(b) Rapidly reduce simulated radio altitude at a rate between
2800 and 4000 feet per minute.
