(a) Press PLNG key on the PMS CDU. Press line select switch 3 to display FLT PLN CONFIG.....1/6 page. Verify that the CDU display (data line 1 and data line 2) indicates PMS waypoint control as follows:
PMS WPT CONTROL SEL
INS WPT CONTROL
(b) Press PMS CDU line select switch 2. Observe that line select switch 2 and the PMS CDU INSERT key illuminate. Verify that the CDU display changes to:
PMS WPT CONTROL
INS WPT CONTROL SEL?
(c) Press the PMS CDU INSERT key. Observe that line select switch 2 and the INSERT key extinguish. Verify that the CDU display indicates INS waypoint control as follows:
PMS WPT CONTROL
INS WPT CONTROL SEL
(d) Verify that the FROM/TO displays on each INS CDU are illuminated, (indicating INS waypoint control).
(6) When the INS has waypoint control, change to PMS waypoint control, using the following procedures:
(a) Press PLNG key on the PMS CDU. Press line select switch 3 to display FLT PLN CONFIG.....1/6 page. Verify that the CDU display (data line 1 and data line 2) indicates INS waypoint control as follows:
PMS WPT CONTROL
INS WPT CONTROL SEL
(b) Press PMS CDU line select switch 1, and then press INSERT key. Observe that line select switch 1 and the INSERT key illuminate. Verify that the CDU display changes to:
PMS WPT CONTROL ARM ?
INS WPT CONTROL

(c) Press the PMS CDU INSERT key. Observe that line select switch 1 and the INSERT key extinguish. Verify that the CDU display indicates PMS waypoint control as follows:
PMS WPT CONTROL ARM
INS WPT CONTROL
(d) Press the WPT key on the PMS CDU. Push the CDU slew switch as required to advance display to WPT.....2/2 page. Verify that waypoint number 1A is on data line 1.
(e) Load waypoint latitude and longitude (different from present position) for waypoint 1A, at the PMS CDU, using the following procedures. 1) Press PMS CDU N/2 key for north latitude or S/8 key for south latitude. Observe that line select switch 2 and INSERT key illuminate. N or S appears in data line 2 of the DPM CDU display, with degree and decimal signs. Other digits for latitude data are blank. 2) Using data keys on the PMS CDU, enter numerical value of latitude. Leading zeros need not be entered. 3) If displayed latitude (in data line 2) is correct for waypoint, press INSERT key. Observe INSERT key extinguishes. Verify that entered latitude is displayed with leading zeros (even if leading zeros were not previously loaded). 4) Press PMS CDU E/6 key for east longitude or W/4 key for west longitude. Observe the INSERT key illuminates. E or W appears in data line 2 of the PMS CDU display, with degree and decimal signs. Other digits for longitude data are blank. 5) Using data keys on the PMS CDU, enter numberical value of longitude. Leading zeros need not be entered.
6) If displayed longitude (in data line 2) is correct for waypoint, press INSERT key. Observe that line select switch 2 and the INSERT key extinguish. Verify that entered longitude is displayed with leading zeros (even if leading zeros were not previously loaded).
(f) Press CLB key on the PMS CDU to display CLB xxx.....x/3 page. Press line select switch 3 key; observe line select switch 3 and INSERT keys illuminate. Verify that the left part of data line 3 on the CDU display indicates:
DIR TO - -
(DIR is flashing)

(g) Press PMS CDU INSERT key; INSERT key remains illuminated. Verify that the left part of data line 3 on the CDU display changes to:
DIR TO xx
(xx, following DIR TO, is flashing)
(h) Push the PMS CDU slew switch as required until the TO waypoint on CDU display shows 1A. The left part of data line 3 on the CDU display shall indicate:
DIR TO 1A
(1A is flashing)
(i) Press the PMS CDU INSERT key; observe line select switch 3 and INSERT keys extinguish. Verify that the left part of data line 3 on the CDU display indicates:
DIR TO 1A
(Display is not flashing)
(7) Press PLNG key on the PMS CDU. Press line select switch 3 to display FLT PLN CONFIG.....1/6 page. Verify that the CDU display (data line 1 and data line 2) indicates PMS waypoint control as follows:
