 B.  When a test step does not check out, follow the NOT OK line to the box containing the trouble symptom. Turn to the procedure indicated and continue to follow a single line by analyzing the results of each test step until the required corrective action is determined. Perform the specified corrective action; then repeat the step at which the failure was encountered.
 C.  All trouble shooting procedures are based on the assumption that wiring is OK and that electrical power is available. If the corrective action in the procedure does not correct the problem, check wiring using the wiring diagram.
 2.  Prepare for Trouble Shooting

 A.  Verify that GROUND PROX WARN CMPTR; CADC 1 PWR, SYNC EXCIT, and ALTIM IND 1; ALTIM LOW 1; VOR/GS circuit breakers on panel P7 are closed.
 B.  Verify that pilots' IND LTS circuit breaker on panel P12 is closed.
 C.  Apply electrical power (Ref 24-22-00).
 D. Verify that cockpit interphone speakers are operating (Ref 23-51-00). XA E. Select an ILS local station on VHF NAV.1 - Check that glide slope flag XA is out of view on captain HSI - (See note 1) - (note 2) XA F. Verify that failure warning flag in captain's height indicator and XA altitude indicator are not in view (LRRA #1 and CADC #1 at 0 ft. and XA valid) XA G. Verify that inboard trailing edge flaps are less than 20 degrees (AT, XA AZ, LH ALL only). XA H. Verify that landing lever is set at DN or OFF position (AF 57, AF 161, XA AT, AZ, LH ALL only). XA XA NOTE 1:______If not attainable perform an ILS 1 shelf test simultaneously XA with GPWS self test activation. XA XA NOTE 2:______Not rquired on SN ALL since mode 5 is deactivated. XA XA NOTE 3:______Additional information about system status can be gained XA by performing self test from the computer front panel and XA observing lighting of front panel lamps. XA XA (1) LH ALL (Sundstrand - 88 computer), upon self test initiation, XA front panel fault indicator lamps come on flashing momentarily XA indicating corresponding signals are valid. (Radio Alti, Gear, XA Air data, Flap DN, G/S VAL) - GPWS OK lights come on and reamins XA on until switch release- in case of invalid signal the XA corresponding light remains on and GPWS OK light does not come on.

 XA  (2)  AT ALL (Sunstrand - 70 computer) In addition to above lamps, mode
 XA  annunciators display white as each mode checks good - The
 XA  annunciator can be reset by the RESET switch or automatically
 XA  when radio alt. is greater than 50 feet.
 XA  (3)  AF, SN all (TRT computer) When self-test is not activated, front
 XA  panel indicator lamps remain permanently lighted if corresponding
 XA  signal inputs (Radio alt., alt. rate, GS, GEAR, Flaps) are valid -
XA  On SN all GS indicator will not come on - Gear and flaps indicator
 XA  are lighted only if gear is in DWN position and flaps are in 20
 XA  degrees or less respectively - When self-test is initiitiated
 XA  indicators are lighted if corresponding mode is operating - Mode 5
 XA  indicator will not come on SN ALL - The additional TEST indicator
 XA  comes on if no fault has been detected.

 GROUND PROXIMITY WARNING SYSTEM - ADJUSTMENT/TEST

 1.  General

 A.  The operational test and system test are intended to check out the overall function of the ground proximity warning system (GPWS). The operational test is self-contained and gives a confidence test of the system, utilizing on-board equipment. The system test is predicated on successful completion of the operational test and cannot be performed alone.
