 INS WPT CONTROL
 (8)  
Verify that the FROM/TO displays on each INS CDU are blank
 (indicating PMS waypoint control).


 (9)  
If the PMS is no longer required, restore airplane to normal.


 V. Inertial Navigation System (INS) Interface.
 (1)  
If required prepare for test as described in paragraph D.

 (2)  
Ensure that present position latitude and longitude coordinates are entered into each INS, and that each MSU mode selector switch is set to ALIGN.

 (3)  
On IB airplanes, ensure that the AUTO/MAN/RMT switch on each INS CDU is set to MAN.

 (4)  
Verify that the FROM/TO displays on each INS CDU are blank,
 (indicating PMS waypoint control).


 (5)  
Press NAV DATA key on PMS CDU and slew to NAV DATA.....4/4 page. Verify that present position coordinates displayed on the PMS CDU are the same as those displayed on the respective INS CDU's, with the INS CDU data selector switch to POS.

 (6)  
On IB airplanes, press STS/TEST key on the PMS CDU and verify that STS.....1/1 page appears. Verify that the INS-1 and INS-2 alignment status, displayed on data lines 2 and 3 of the CDU display, is the same as indicated on the respective INS CDU, with the INS CDU data selector switch to DSR TK STS.

 (7)  
On AF airplanes, press STS/TEST key on the PMS CDU and verify that STS.....1/1 page appears. Verify that the INS-1 and INS-2 alignment status, displayed on data lines 2 and 3 of the CDU display, is the same as indicated on the respective INS CDU, with the INS CDU data selector switch to DSRTK/STS.

 (8)  
Press PERF DATA key on the PMS CDU. Push CDU slew switch momentarily to FWD position to advance display to PERF DATA.....3/4 page. Verify that the left part of data line 2 indicates the INS-1 and INS-2 vertical acceleration input to the PMS as follows:


 'AZ | .XXG | .XXG'
 Verify that the display indicates numbers (including zeros) in location X and not dashes.
 (9)  
Press CDU CLEAR key.

 (10)
 If the PMS is no longer required, restore airplane to normal.


 W. Horizontal Situation Indicator (HSI) Interface
 (1)  
If required prepare for test as described in paragraph D.

 (2)  
Place the Captain's and F/O's VOR-ILS/INS switches (on the P10 panel) to the INS position.

 (3)  
Place the Captain's INS switch (on the P1 panel) to the CAPT 1 -F/O 2 position.

 (4)  
Ensure that present position latitude and longitude coordinates are entered into each INS, and that each MSU mode selector switch is set to ALIGN.

 (5)  
On IB airplanes, ensure that the AUTO/MAN/RMT switch on each INS CDU is set to MAN.

 (6)  
Verify that the FROM/TO displays on each INS CDU are blank,
 (indicating PMS waypoint control).


 (7)  
On IB airplanes, place the data selector switch, on each INS CDU, to the DSR TK STS position. Verify that the alignment status number on the CDU right data display is 50 or a lower number.

 (8)  
On AF airplanes, place the data selector switch, on each INS CDU, to the DSRTK/STS position. Verify that the align mode number (second digit from the right in the CDU right-hand data display) is 7 or a lower number.

 (9)  
Press and hold the PMS CDU STS/TEST key. Verify the following on the Captain's HSI and on the F/O's HSI:


 (a)  Drift angle marker, course arrow and 0 on azimuth card are positioned under lubber line.

 (b)  
Course deviation bar is positioned one dot to right of center.

 (c)  
ALERT annunciator is illuminated.

 (d)  
Heading and navigation warning flags are out of view.


 (10)
 While holding the PMS CDU STS/TEST key pressed, verify that
 INS-1 and INS-2 updating annunciators (on P1 and P3 pilots'
 panels) are green.


 (11)
 Release the CDU STS/TEST key.

 (12)
 If the PMS is no longer required, restore airplane to normal.


 X. Distance Measuring Equipment (DME) Interface
 (1)  
If required prepare for test as described in paragraph D.

 (2)  
Set up the DME ramp test set in accordance with 34-55-00 and simulate a distance of 180 |2 nautical miles on DME interrogator No. 1. Verify that the DME indicators on the pilots main instrument panels display the simulated DME-1 distance.
