D. Procedure
(1)
Make sure these circuit breakers are open with DO-NOT-CLOSE tags attached:
(a) P7 Overhead Circuit Breaker Panel
1) WXR L RT
2) WXR L IND
3) WXR R RT
4) WXR R IND
(2)
Remove dust caps from the waveguide flanges on the antenna drive assembly and the planar array.
(3)
Install the planar array:
WARNING: USE TWO PERSONS AND A SAFELY INSTALLED WORKSTAND DURING
_______ THE INSTALLATION OF THE PLANAR ARRAY. THE PLANAR ARRAY WEIGHS APPROXIMATELY 7 POUNDS.
BE CAREFUL WITH THE PLANAR ARRAY DURING INSTALLATION. CAREFULLY INSTALL THE PLANAR ARRAY TO PREVENT INJURY TO YOU OR DAMAGE TO THE PLANAR ARRAY.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE A GOOD GASKET IS INSTALLED BETWEEN THE WAVEGUIDE
_______ FLANGES. A DAMAGED GASKET OR NO GASKET WILL POSSIBLY CAUSE ANTENNA DAMAGE.
(a)
Put the planar array on the ring mount.
(b)
Install eight screws and lockwashers.
(c)
Tighten the screws between 24 and 33 pound-inches.
(d)
Align the flexible waveguide flange on the rotary joint with the planar array waveguide flange.
(e)
Install four screws and lockwashers.
(f)
Tighten the four screws between 24 and 33 pound-inches.
(g)
Make sure the electrical connector DB143A is correctly connected to the antenna connector J1.
(h)
Make sure the electrical connector DB143B is correctly connected to the antenna connector J2.
(4)
Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags and close these circuit breakers:
(a) P7 Overhead Circuit Breaker Panel
1) WXR L RT
2) WXR L IND
3) WXR R RT
4) WXR R IND
(5)
Do the ND display test in the system test (AMM 34-43-00/501).
(6)
If electrical power is not necessary; Remove electrical power: "Manual Control" (AMM 24-22-00/201).
(7)
Close the nose radome "Weather Radar Antenna Installation" (AMM 34-43-03/401).

B. Remove protective covers from the waveguide flanges on the antenna pedestal and the antenna flat plate.
NOTE: Replace the gasket if it is defective.
____
C. Turn the two clamp jaw bolts on the antenna pedestal counterclockwise to open the jaws.
WARNING: DURING AN ANTENNA FLAT PLATE INSTALLATION USE TWO PERSONS AND A
_______ SAFELY INSTALLED PLATFORM. THE ANTENNA FLAT PLATE WEIGHS APPROXIMATELY 5 POUNDS.
HANDLE THE ANTENNA FLAT PLATE CAREFULLY DURING INSTALLATION. CAREFUL INSTALLATION WILL PREVENT INJURY TO YOU OR DAMAGE TO THE ANTENNA FLAT PLATE.
CAUTION: OBSERVE THE NO-HANDHOLD PLACARD.
_______
MAKE SURE A GOOD GASKET IS INSTALLED BETWEEN THE WAVEGUIDE FLANGES. A DAMAGED GASKET OR NO GASKET WILL POSSIBLY CAUSE ANTENNA DAMAGE.
NOTE:____Do not move the ring clamp on the elevation zero monitor. Make sure the monitor dial continues to show 0 degree. The alignment of the elevation monitor could change.
D. Make sure the cotter pin in each clamp jaw bolt is correctly attached.
E. Carefully set the flat plate mounting flange on the antenna pedestal mounting flange.
NOTE: Make sure the guide pins on the pedestal mounting flange engage
____
the holes on the flat plate mounting flange.
F. Tighten each bolt to approximately 20 inch-pounds.
G. Attach safety wire from one clamp jaw bolthead to the other.
(1) Make sure the electrical connectors DB143A and DB143B are correctly connected to the antenna pedestal.
H. Remove the Do-Not-Operate identifiers and close WEA RDR RT/1 and WEA RDR RT/2 circut breakers and WEA RDR IND 1 and WEA RDR IND 2 circuit breakers on circuit breaker panel P7.
I. Perform operational test 34-43-00 CONFIG 4, Weather Radar System -Adjustment/Test.
