(2)
Using care, pry antenna away from airplane fuselage and lower until coaxial cable can be disconnected.
CAUTION: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU REMOVE THE AERODYNAMIC FILLET SEAL
_______ WITH THE SEALANT REMOVAL TOOL. DAMAGE TO THE AIRPLANE SKIN OR THE COAXIAL CABLE CAN OCCUR.
(3)
Disconnect coaxial cable from antenna and remove DME antenna.
(4)
Remove and keep the O-ring from the antenna.

A. Install DME interrogator.
WARNING: WHEN INSTALLING BENDIX KDM 7000/B DME INTERROGATORS, ENSURE THAT THE PART NUMBERS AGREE WITH TABLE 1. WITH THE PAIRING OF THE BENDIX KDM7000/B DME INTERROGATORS AND COLLINS 51RV-4 AND KING RADIO KNR6030 VHF NAVIGATION RECEIVERS, THERE EXISTS A POSSIBILITY THAT THE VHF NAV RECEIVER MAY CHANNEL TO A FREQUENCY OTHER THAN THAT INDICATED ON THE VHF NAV CONTROL PANEL. THIS FALSE CHANNELING COULD RESULT IN FLIGHT PATH DEVIATIONS.

B. Install DME indicator.
(1) Connect electrical connectors to indicator and place indicator in console. Secure indicator by tightening fasteners.
C. Before mating any electrical connector ensure that circuit breakers listed in par. 3A. are open.
D. Install the DME antenna.
(1) Clean the faying surfaces of the airplane structure and antenna base
with solvent, Series 88 (Ref AMM/SOPM 20-30-88).
WARNING: DO NOT GET SOLVENTS IN YOUR MOUTH, OR IN YOUR EYES, OR ON_______
YOUR SKIN. DO NOT BREATHE THE FUMES FROM SOLVENTS.
SOLVENTS ARE HAZARDOUS MATERIALS. REFER TO PRODUCT
MATERIAL SAFETY DATA SHEETS (MSDS) AND LOCAL REQUIREMENTS
FOR PROPER HANDLING PROCEDURES.
(2) AIRPLANES WITHOUT SL 51-35;
Do these steps to prepare the airplane surfaces:
(a) Do this task to apply a layer of alodine to the airplane mating
surface: "Apply Alodine 1000 Solution" (AMM 51-21-04/701).
NOTE: This task removes corrosion, cleans the surface, and____
applies the alodine.
(b) Apply two layers of BMS 10-79 Type III primer to the airplane
skin.
(c) Let each layer dry for the correct cure time.
(3) AIRPLANES WITH SL 51-35;
If the airplane surface has corrosion or other damage, do these
steps to prepare the airplane surface:
(a) Do this task to apply a layer of alodine to the airplane mating
surface: "Apply Alodine 1000 Solution" (AMM 51-21-04/701).
NOTE: This task removes corrosion, cleans the surface, and____
applies the alodine.
(b) Apply two layers of BMS 10-79 Type III primer to the airplane
skin.
(c) Let each layer dry for the correct cure time.
(4) Inspect the O-ring seal and replace it if it is damaged.
(5) Apply a layer of BMS 3-24 grease in the O-ring groove.
(6) Apply a layer of BMS 3-24 grease on the O-ring.
(7) Install the O-ring in the O-ring groove.
(8) Apply a layer of BMS 3-27 (Corrosion inhibiting compound) to the
surfaces that follow:
