 RAIN REPELLENT CONTAINER - SERVICING

 1.  General_______
 A.  This procedure contains a task to fill the rain repellent system.
 B.  The container for the rain repellent system is on the bulkhead adjacent to the observer's seat. Replace the container when the indicator on the reservoir shows it is necessary.
 TASK 12-16-01-603-001
 2.  Rain Repellent Container Servicing (Fig. 301)__________________________________
 A.  Access
 (1)  Location Zone
 101 Control Cabin - Left

 B.  Procedure
 S 863-002
 (1) Turn the shutoff valve handle to the closed (horizontal) position.
 S 023-009
 WARNING:_______DO NOT LET RAIN REPELLENT FLUID TOUCH YOUR SKIN OR EYES. THE FLUID CAN CAUSE IRRITATION. DO NOT BREATHE THE FUMES. IF THE FLUID TOUCHES YOU, WASH YOUR SKIN OR EYES WITH WATER.
 (2) Remove the used container:
 (a)
Release the clamp from the container.

 (b)
Remove the container from the fitting.

 S 213-004
 (3) Make sure the new container will make a good seal:
 (a)
See that the O-ring is satisfactory.

 (b)
See that the top surface of the new container is satisfactory.

 S 423-008
 CAUTION:_______ONLY USE YOUR FINGERS TO TIGHTEN THE CONTAINER. TOO MUCH TORQUE CAN CAUSE LEAKS.
 (4)
Install the new container:

 (a)
Install the new container into the fitting.

 (b)
Tighten the clamp around the container.

 

 (5)
Turn the manual shutoff valve to the open (vertical) position.

 (6) Make sure the fluid level indicator is at the full (top) position.
 NOTE: If a new Rain Repellent container is installed and the fluid
____ level remains at the low level. Then removal and reinstallation of the Rain Repellent container is required to relieve the gas pressure. This allows the fluid level to show a new level.
