Remove the cap from the pressure-fill valve for the spline cavity on the VSCF.

Connect the coupling to the pressure-fill valve for the spline cavity.

Set the pressure from the service cart to 25-40 psig.

Fill the spline cavity until the oil starts to drain from the drain fitting on the accessory gearbox.
(a) Let the oil drain until it stops.

Disconnect the coupling from the pressure-fill valve for the spline cavity.

Install the cap on the pressure-fill valve for the spline cavity.

Install the cap to the drain fitting for the spline cavity on the accessory gearbox.
NOTE: Use a second wrench to maintain the drain fitting during the

Tighten the cap to a torque of 270-301 pound-inches.
(b)
Install a lockwire.

(10) Remove the bucket.
(a) Discard the oil from the bucket.

1. General_______
A. This procedure contains these tasks:
(1)
VSCF Oil Level Check.
(2)
Drain the Oil from the VSCF.
(3)
Fill the VSCF with Oil.
(4)
Drain the Oil from the Spline Cavity.
(5)
Fill the Spline Cavity with Oil.
B. A sight glass on the VSCF shows the oil level in the VSCF oil system. A standpipe on the accessory gearbox on each engine shows the oil level in the spline cavity. When the oil level is high, oil comes out of the standpipe.
