REMOVE THE FILL AND OIL LEVEL CHECK PORTS, FILL THE MOTOR THROUGH THE FILL PORT UNTIL FLUID

DRAINS FROM THE LOWER LEVEL CHECK PORT.
REMOVE THE ACCESS COVER AND BUTTER LUBRICATE THE BEVEL GEARS. TURN THE SHAFT TO APPLY THE GREASE
EVENLY OVER THE GEAR TEETH.

FILL TO THE LEVEL OF THE ACCESS COVER WITH APPROXIMATELY TWO POUNDS OF GREASE.

AFTER YOU FILL, CYCLE THE FLAPS AND CHECK THE FLUID LEVEL AGAIN. IF THE GEARS ARE NOT TURNED,
THE FLUID LEVEL INDICATION CAN BE INCORRECT.

AIRPLANES WITH LUBRICATION HOLES IN THE TORQUE TUBE COUPLING;

MOVE THE TORQUE TUBE AXIALLY FULL TRAVEL TOWARD THE END YOU LUBRICATE. FILL A MINIMUM OF TWO

LUBRICATION HOLES WITH GREASE.
AIRPLANES WITHOUT LUBRICATION HOLES IN THE TORQUE TUBE COUPLING;
DISCONNECT THE COUPLING AND APPLY A LIGHT FILM OF GREASE TO THE FULL LENGTH OF THE INTERNAL
SPLINES AND RECONNECT THE TORQUE TUBE COUPLING.

_______ AIRPLANES WITHOUT LUBRICATION HOLES IN THE TORQUE TUBE COUPLING;

CAUTION: THE COUPLING MUST BE DISCONNECTED TO LUBRICATE THE SPLINES. MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT MOVE THE FLAP SYSTEM DRIVE SHAFTS AND TRANSMISSIONS WHILE THE COUPLINGS ARE DISCONNECTED, SINCE FLAP SYSTEM ADJUSTMENT WILL BE CHANGED. YOU MUST ADJUST THE FLAP SYSTEM IF MOVEMENT OCCURS WHILE THE COUPLINGS ARE DISCONNECTED (AMM 27-51-00/501).
BMS 3-33 PREFERRED;
MIL-G-21164, MIL-G-23827 OPTIONAL.

FILL TO THE LEVEL OF THE FILLER PORT.

REMOVE THE COVER ON THE AFT SIDE OF THE TRANSMITTER GEARBOX TO GET ACCESS TO THE GEARS.
APPLY A FULL LAYER OF GREASE TO THE GEARS. DO NOT COMPLETELY FILL THE GEARBOX WITH GREASE.

ONE MORE LUBE POINT IS ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE (NOT SHOWN).
