 2.  Overwing Refuel Procedure

 A.  General
 (1)  You can do the overwing refuel procedure without electrical power if you use the fuel measuring sticks and the applicable conversion document. Refer to the task: "Refuel Operation When the Fuel Quantity Indicating System Does Not Operate" (AMM 12-11-04/301). It is necessary to use electrical power to operate the boost pumps if you move fuel to the center tank from the other tanks.

 (1)  If you must operate the refuel quantity indicators during the overwing refuel operation, you can use external power.
 NOTE: Do not operate the APU during overwing refueling.

 (3)  Ground the refuel nozzles to the ground jacks adjacent to the fill ports with the nozzle bonding cable.
 S 033-024 CAUTION: MAKE SURE THE FUEL LEVEL IS BELOW THE LEVEL OF THE CAP BEFORE
_______ YOU REMOVE THE CAP. FUEL CAN FLOW FROM THE PORT TO THE SURFACE OF THE WING.
 (4)  
Remove the caps from the overwing fill ports in the No. 1 tank and the No. 2 tank (Fig. 301).

Put the refuel nozzles into the overwing fill ports. S 653-026

Fill the No. 1 tank and the No. 2 tank with fuel. S 653-027

 CAUTION:_______OBEY ALL OF THE LOAD SPECIFICATIONS AND LIMITS. DAMAGE TO THE AIRPLANE CAN OCCUR.

If you are scheduled to refuel the center tank, move fuel from the other tanks (AMM 28-23-00/201).

Fill the No. 1 tank and the No. 2 tank with fuel again to replace the quantity that you moved to the center tank.

When the necessary quantity of fuel is in the tanks, remove the refuel nozzles from the overwing fill ports.
