Keep the oxygen away from ignition sources (heat, sparks, flame) and other material that can cause an ignition.
(c)
Keep oxygen away from flammable material, fuel, paint thinners, solvents, and all other material that can burn.
(d)
Use only aviation grade oxygen that you can breathe, for the oxygen system.
(e)
Oxygen other than aviation grade can be satisfactory for you to breathe but it can contain too much water.
(f)
Too much water in the oxygen can freeze and can cause clogged lines, regulators, and valves of the oxygen system.

(g)
When you slowly and fully open the shutoff valve, the risk of a fire or an explosion will decrease.
(h)
To open the valve on the crew oxygen cylinder, do the steps that follow: 1) Supply electrical power (AMM 24-22-00/201). 2) Make sure you close the OXYGEN SYSTEM IND circuit breaker
on the P18 panel.
CAUTION: DO NOT TIGHTEN THE VALVE MORE THAN THE GIVEN TORQUE.
_______ DAMAGE TO THE VALVE CAN OCCUR.
3) Slowly and fully open the shutoff valve on the oxygen cylinder. 4) Do not tighten the valve more than 25 pound-inches
(Hand tight). 5) Close the shutoff valve 1/4 of a turn. 6) When you put the system back to its initial condition, you
must keep the valve in this position with lockwire.
7) Immediately make sure the pressure indication on the aft overhead panel is approximately the same as the indication on the oxygen cylinder gage.
