 (2)  Do the procedure that follows to service the shock strut.
 F. Procedure

 WARNING:_______DO NOT REMOVE THE VALVE BODY. THE INTERNAL PRESSURE CAN BLOW THE BODY OUT WHICH CAN CAUSES POSSIBLE INJURY TO PERSONS.
 (1)  Remove the dust cap from the air valve at the top of the shock strut.

 (2)  Slowly open the air valve nut two turns maximum.
 NOTE: Fluid in the shock strut will start to foam immediately as
____ you reduce pressure to ambient. Deflate the shock strut slowly to prevent the fluid to leak through the air valve.

 (3)  Remove the foamed fluid and fill with fluid by one of the following methods:
 (a)  Flushing Method 1) Remove the seal cap of the check valve. 2) Connect the service cart to the drain tube of the check
 valve. 3) Connect the hose to the air valve on top of the shock strut.
 NOTE: The air valve must be fully open.

 a)  Put the other end of the hose to drain into the container.
 4)  Fill the shock strut with hydraulic fluid until the hydraulic fluid flows into the drain bucket. a) Continue to fill the shock strut until the hydraulic
 fluid which flows into the drain bucket is free of bubbles.
 5)  On airplanes that do not use a fully formulated (shock strut) fluid, do the following steps. a) Remove the air valve from top of the shock strut and
 remove approximately 1 pint of fluid.
 CAUTION: YOU MUST MIX SHOCK STRUT FLUIDS THAT ARE NOT
_______ PRE-MIXED BEFORE YOU FILL THE STRUT. IF YOU POUR UNDILUTED LUBRIZOL DIRECTLY INTO A STRUT IT CAN SETTLE TO THE BOTTOM AND NOT MIX CORRECTLY. UNDILUTED LUBRIZOL CAN ALSO CAUSE THE STRUT SEALS TO SWELL AND SOFTEN.
 CAUTION: YOU MUST MIX 1 PART LUBRIZOL 1395 WITH 10 PARTS
_______ MIL-H-6083 OR MIL-H-5606 TO DILUTE THE LUBRIZOL BEFORE YOU ADD IT TO THE STRUT. IF YOU DO NOT DILUTE LUBRIZOL BEFORE YOU ADD IT TO THE STRUT IT CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE STRUT AND SEALS.
 b)  Put in 11 ounces of diluted lubrizol and add clean fluid.

 c) Replace the air valve.Draining Method 1) Remove the check valve and drain the shock strut fully. 2) Remove the seal cap from the check valve. 3) Apply shock strut fluid to the threads of the check valve.
 WARNING:_______ MAKE SURE THE ARROW ON THE CHECK VALVE POINTS TO THE
 SHOCK STRUT WHEN YOU INSTALL IT.  INCORRECT
 INSTALLATION OF THE CHECK VALVE CAN CAUSE INJURY TO
 PERSONS IF THE SEAL CAP IS REMOVED WITH THE SHOCK

 STRUT PRESSURIZED.
 4) Install the check valve at the bottom of the drain tube. 5) Turn the check valve until it contacts the bottom of the
 drain tube. 6) Tighten the check valve 8 to 10 pound-feet torque. 7) Install the lockwire. 8) Connect the service cart to the check valve. 9) On airplanes that do not use a fully formulated (shock
 strut) fluid, do the following steps.
 a) Remove the air valve from the top of the shock strut.

 CAUTION: YOU MUST MIX SHOCK STRUT FLUIDS THAT ARE NOT
