Open the CSD/VSCF Access Door on the Cowl Access Panel (AMM 71-11-04/201).

Look at the oil level in the sight glass on the VSCF.
(a)
If the oil level is above the top of the NORMAL range, drain some of the oil from the VSCF (AMM 12-13-21/301).
(b)
If the oil level is below the bottom of the NORMAL range, add oil to the VSCF (AMM 12-13-21/301).

(3) If the oil level is satisfactory, close the CSD/VSCF Acces Door on the Cowl Access Panel (AMM 71-11-04/201).

D. Drain the Oil from the VSCF

Open the left fan cowl on the applicable engine if it is not open (AMM 71-11-02/201).
(2)
Set the bucket below the case drain plug to catch the used oil.

WARNING:_______ DO NOT TOUCH THE OIL SYSTEM PARTS WHEN THEY ARE HOT. THESE
PARTS STAY HOTTER THAN THE OTHER ENGINE PARTS AFTER AN ENGINE
SHUTDOWN. OIL SYSTEM PARTS THAT ARE HOT CAN BURN YOU.
DO NOT LET THE OIL TOUCH YOUR SKIN FOR A LONG TIME. YOU CAN
ABSORB POISONOUS MATERIALS FROM THE OIL THROUGH YOUR SKIN. OIL
ON YOUR SKIN CAN CAUSE DERMATITIS AFTER A LONG TIME.
WARNING: HOLD A LINT-FREE CLOTH UP TO THE CASE DRAIN WHEN YOU REMOVE THE
CASE DRAIN PLUG. THE CASE MAY BE PRESSURIZED AND OIL MAY SPRAY
WHEN YOU REMOVE THE PLUG.
CAUTION:_______DO NOT REMOVE THE VACUUM BREAK VALVE FROM THE VSCF. IF YOU REMOVE THE VACUUM BREAK VALVE, YOU CAN DAMAGE THE VSCF.

Remove the case drain lockwire from the case drain plug.

Remove the case drain plug from the VSCF.

Let the oil drain from the VSCF.

Remove the bucket.
(a) Discard the used oil from the bucket.

(7) Install the case drain plug into the VSCF.
(a) Install the case drain lockwire to the case drain plug.

CAUTION: IMMEDIATELY REMOVE ALL OF THE OIL THAT FALLS ON THE ENGINE
_______ PARTS. OIL CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE PAINT AND SOME RUBBER PARTS.

Clean the engine parts that have oil on them.

Add oil to the VSCF before you operate the engine again (Ref "Fill the VSCF with Oil" task).
