2) Do not apply grease to these areas because they will receive grease during cable movement: a) Through the fairleads. b) Through the air pressure seals. c) On the pulleys. d) On the quadrants. e) On the drums.
3) After application of grease on the cable, the cable should be wiped with a clean cloth to remove grease, but leave a thin visible film.
(b) Stainless Steel Cables (CRES): 1) Do not apply solvents to stainless steel control cables. 2) Do not apply the grease or oil to the stainless steel
control cables.

ACCESS DOORS AND PANELS

1. General_______
A. This section gives instructions that you must obey when you remove and install an access door or panel.

(1) If you disconnect a bonding jumper when you remove a panel, you must connect it when you install the panel.

3. Aluminum and Steel Fasteners____________________________
A. Procedure

(1) Make sure you know which fasteners are aluminum and which are steel. If you do not know which fasteners are aluminum, you can accidentally tighten them to a torque for a steel fastener. If you use the incorrect torque, you can cause damage to the fastener.

4. Faying Surface Seals____________________

(1) If you break a faying surface seal or removable seal during panel removal, you must apply a new faying surface seal or removable seal during the panel installation (AMM 51-31-00/201).
NOTE:____Most access panels do not have a faying surface seal. If a panel has a faying surface seal, apply BMS 5-95 sealant if the panel does not touch fuel, and BMS 5-26 sealant if the panel touches fuel (unless other AMM procedures are specified).

Aerodynamic sealant is not required on panels that are removed more frequently than every "C" check. If the access panel is only removed at intervals less frequent than a "C" check, replace the aerodynamic seal with BMS 5-95 in critical airflow areas and BMS 5-44 or BMS 5-95 in non-critical airflow areas. Refer to SRM 51-10-01 for the location of these airflow areas. Refer to AMM 51-31-00/001 for other sealing requirements.

Airplanes may operate with uncured fay sealant or aerodynamic sealant on wing external surface access panels. To allow airplanes to operate, do the steps that follow:
(a)
Apply aluminum speed tape over the panel edge gaps to protect the sealant until it is cured.
(b)
Remove the speed tape from the panel edges when sealant is cured.
