 HYDRAULIC RESERVOIR - SERVICING
_______________________________
 TASK 12-12-00-613-001
 1. Hydraulic Reservoir Servicing
_____________________________
 A. General
 (1)
If the complete loss of hydraulic fluid has occured, accomplish Hydraulic Fluid Replacement procedure (AMM 29-00-00/201).

 (2)
If the hydraulic reservoir was filled after the replacement of a component or after fluid loss, accomplish Bleed the Hydraulic System procedure (AMM 29-00-00/201).

 (3)
The equipment that is necessary to fill the hydraulic fluid is on the forward bulkhead of the right wheel well. The equipment includes a hand pump, a pressure fill connection, a filter for the hydraulic fluid, and a selector valve.

 (4)
There is a fluid quantity indicator on the system A and B reservoirs. The system B reservoir is filled through the standby reservoir. When the fluid quantity indicator for system B shows full, the system B reservoir and the standby reservoir are full.

 (5)
The fluid chilling at high altitude and the large ambient temperature changes between departure and arrival locations can result in a decrease in fluid levels. These cold soak effects will not have an impact on the operation of the systems but it can shrink the fluid sufficiently to indicate a need for servicing, even if you serviced the reservoirs at a warm location before the previous flight. Under such circumstances, if you service the airplane "high" at the cold location before the airplane is sent back to the warm location, it is possible that you will cause an overfill of the reservoir and fluid can overflow from the drain line.

 (6)
If the ambient temperature on the ground is 20° F or lower at an arrival location and a fluid level is below "REFILL", service the reservoir to just above "REFILL" to avoid the overflow of fluid at the next warmer location.

NOTE: It is not necessary to remove the air pressure from the
____ hydraulic reservoirs before you fill them.
