(4) S 213-009Inspect the chip detector plug as follows: (a) Remove the chip detector plug from the drain plug.
CAUTION:_______ THE CHIP DETECTOR PLUG SHOULD NOT HAVE ANY METAL PARTICLES ON IT. THE PRESENCE OF METAL PARTICLES IS A SIGN OF WEAR IN THE AIR CYCLE MACHINE AND OF POSSIBLE ACM FAILURE.
(b) (c) Inspect the chip detector plug for metal particles.Clean the chip detector plug and install it with a new O-ring into the drain plug.
(5) S 963-005Replace the oil in the oil sump if there is water in the sight glass (Ref 21-51-11/301).
(6) S 613-006Add the oil to the oil sump of the air cycle machine if it is necessary: (a) Remove the filler plug.
NOTE:____ Loose wires can possibly come out of the filler port when you remove the filler plug. This condition is satisfactory. Put the wires in the filler port before you install the filler plug.
(b) (c) Make sure the oil level in the sight glass is three-fourths full.Install the filler plug.
(7) S 413-007Close the access doors to the air conditioning bay.

(1)
Open the access doors to the air conditioning bay to get access to the turbofan for the ram air system.
(2)
Remove the dipstick from the fitting on the turbofan.
(3)
Examine the dipstick for oil discoloration.
