REMOVE THE INBOARD FLAP TRACK FAIRING PER AMM 27-51-32/401. LUBRICATE THE ROLLER ASSEMBLY
THROUGH THE FITTING IN THE BOLT END.
USE THE LUBRICATION TOOL SET (REF EQUIPMENT AND MATERIALS) TO SIMPLIFY LUBRICATION.
THE FITTING IS ACCESSIBLE THROUGH A SMALL HOLE IN THE LOWER SURFACE OF THE FLAP PANEL.
THERE ARE THREE LUBRICATION FITTINGS ON THE BOLT. ONLY 1 OF THE 2 LOCATED IN THE BOLT HEAD AND 1 LOCATED IN THE THREADED END REQUIRES LUBRICATION.
_______ON SEALED BEARINGS, DO NOT APPLY GREASE WITH A PRESSURE MORE THAN 1000 PSI AND ATCAUTION: A RATE MORE THAN 0.25 LITER PER MINUTE. WHEN YOU USE A HAND-OPERATED GREASE GUN,
DO NOT USE AN EXTENSION HANDLE TO GET MORE FORCE. SEALED BEARINGS CAN BE DAMAGED BY
TOO MUCH PRESSURE.
____EXTEND AND RETRACT THE FLAPS UNTIL THE BEARINGS TURN FREELY AND RELUBRICATE.
NOTE:
ON SEALED BEARING, LUBRICATE THE BEARING UNTIL A SMALL AMOUNT OF GREASE CAN BE SEEN AROUND THE EDGE OF THE END PLATE. GREASE WILL NOT FLOW OUT OF THIS BEARING IN LARGE AMOUNTS, SUCH AS YOU SEE ON UNSEALED BEARINGS. THE BEARING CAN BE DIFFICULT TO MOVE BY HAND BECAUSE OF INTERNAL PRESSURE, WHICH WILL DECREASE IN APPROXIMATELY 30 MINUTES. TO BLEED PRESSURE IMMEDIATELY, PUT A SHORT INSTRUMENT INTO THE LUBE FITTING TO UNSEAT THE SPRING-LOADED BALL CHECK.
