1,1,1-Tricholoroethane is one of the solvents allowed for cleaning composite components. Do not submerge parts in the solvent or allow standing solvent on the parts or damage may occur. Use 1,1,1-Tricholoroethane only as a wipe solvent.

CAUTION: MAKE SURE THE PITOT PROBE COVER IS IN GOOD WORKING CONDTION
_______ WITH NO EVIDENCE OF DAMAGE, ESPECIALLY FRAYING AROUND THE COVER OPENING. FRAYED FIBERS FROM THE COVER COMBINED WITH OTHER SUBSTANCES SUCH AS DIRT, GREASE AND FLUIDS CAN CAUSE OBSTRUCTION IN THE PROBE.
(1) Remove covers from the following components: (a) Pitot static probes (b) Engine inlet, fan exhaust, and turbine exhaust (AMM 71-00-03) (c) Brakes (d) Tires

(2) Remove the "PITOT PROBES COVERED" tag from the left control wheel in the flight deck.

CAUTION: REMOVE ALL BARRICADE TAPE, COVERS, POLYETHYLENE SHEET AND VINYL
_______ ADHESIVE TAPE. ENGINES SHOULD NOT BE OPERATED WITH COVERS IN PLACE BECAUSE THE COVERS CAN COME OFF AND DAMAGE THE ENGINES.
(3) Remove all barricade tape, covers, polyethylene sheet and vinyl adhesive tape from the following openings:
(a)
Static ports
1) Inspect each static port and if necessary use naphtha or equivalent, and a clean dry rag to remove tape residue, dirt and other contaminants around the static ports.
(b)
Surge tank and fuel tank vents (AMM 28-11-00)
(c)
APU exhaust duct outlet port (AMM 49-81-11)
(d)
Forward outflow valve (AMM 21-43-11)
(e)
Ram air inlet and outlet doors (AMM 21-52-00)
(f)
Cabin pressurization outflow valve (AMM 21-31-11)

(4) Remove the "STATIC PORTS COVERED" tag from the left control wheel in the flight deck.
