TOXIC MATERIALS THROUGH YOUR SKIN IF YOU LET THE OIL TOUCH YOUR
SKIN.
DO NOT TOUCH THE PARTS OF THE ENGINE OIL SYSTEM IF THE ENGINE
IS HOT. THE OIL SYSTEM STAYS HOT FOR MORE TIME THAN THE OTHER
ENGINE PARTS. YOU CAN CAUSE INJURY TO YOURSELF IF YOU TOUCH A
HOT OIL SYSTEM.
CAUTION:_______ DO NOT LET THE ENGINE OIL TOUCH THE PARTS WHICH DO NOT USUALLY
TOUCH THE OIL. ENGINE OIL CAN DAMAGE RUBBER, PAINT AND OTHER
ENGINE PARTS.
DO NOT LET ALKALINE CLEANING FLUIDS TOUCH THE OIL WHICH WILL GO
INTO THE ENGINE. VERY SMALL AMOUNTS OF AKALINE CLEANING FLUIDS
WILL DAMAGE THE ENGINE OIL.
(7) Examine the oil for metal particles. (a) If you find metal particles, which is an indication of internal damage, replace the engine starter (AMM 80-11-01/401).

(8) Install the drain plug in the starter. (a) Lubricate a new gasket with clean engine oil. (b) Install the gasket on the drain plug. (c) Install the plug and tighten to 20-40 pound-inches (2.3-4.5 Newton meters).

(9) If you will remove the starter, do not service the starter with oil. (a) ENGINE STARTERS WITHOUT THE OIL LEVEL VIEW GLASS; Install the cap on the oil overfill port.

(1) Remove the cap on the oil fill port (Fig. 301).
(a) Push the cap and turn it counterclockwise until it unlocks.

(2) ENGINE STARTERS WITHOUT THE OIL LEVEL VIEW GLASS; Remove the cap on the oil overfill port (if it has not been done).
(a) Push the cap and turn it counterclockwise until it unlocks.
NOTE: Be prepared to catch the oil from the oil overfill port.
