4. Procedure
_________ Subtask 49-23-51-710-052
A. Test of the Inlet Guide Vane (IGV) mechanism (IGV Actuator installed)
(1)
Pull the IGV mechanism manually to the OPEN position.
(2)
Disconnect the quick-disconnect pin from the clevis of the IGV rod.
(3)
Push the IGV mechanism manually back to the CLOSED position. NOTE : A sign of a serviceable IGV mechanism is a smooth and easy
____
movement of the IGV rod.
(4)
Engage the axial-scale measuring device through the ring of the quick-disconnect pin.
(5)
Put the quick-disconnect pin back to the clevis of the IGV rod.
(6)
Measure the load necessary to pull the IGV mechanism back to the OPEN position. Make sure that the maximum load is not more than 11.3 daN (25.4034 lbf).
(a)
If the measured load is lower than the maximum load:
-IGV mechanism is serviceable.
