Put a warning notice in the cockpit to tell persons not to start the APU.

Make sure that hydraulic systems are depressurized

Put the access platform in position below the APU access doors 315AL and 316AR.
(2)
Open the APU access doors 315AL and 316AR (Ref. TASK 52-41-00-010-001).

Set the LIGHT control SW 11LJ to the ON position.

A. Removal of the Starter Motor
CAUTION : MAKE MATCH MARKS ON ALL THE ELECTRICAL WIRES BEFORE YOU
_______ DISCONNECT THEM. INCORRECT CONNECTION OF WIRES WILL CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(1)
Carefully pull back the rubber cover (1) to get access to the starter motor electrical connectors.
(2)
Remove the locknuts (3) and (6) and the washers (4) and (7).
(3)
Disconnect the electrical leads (2), (5) and (16).
(4)
Loosen the V-clamp (15) which attaches the starter motor (10) to the APU.
(5)
Remove the starter motor (10).
(6)
Remove and discard the packing (14) from the starter motor (10).
(7)
Put a blanking cover on the gearbox starter motor mount flange.
