4. Procedure

A. Removal of the Starter Motor (8KA) (Original Configuration P/N:
2000866-1/-2).
(1) Carefully pull back the rubber sleeves (13) to get access to the starter motor (8KA) electrical connectors.
CAUTION : MAKE MATCH MARKS ON ALL THE ELECTRICAL WIRES BEFORE YOU
_______ DISCONNECT THEM. INCORRECT CONNECTION OF WIRES WILL CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.

Remove the locknuts (2) and the washers (4).
(3)
Remove the electrical leads (5), (6) and (25) from the starter motor (8).
(4)
Remove the V-clamp (7) which attaches the starter motor (8) to the accessory drive gearbox.
(5)
Remove the starter motor (8KA) (8).
(6)
Remove and discard the packing (9) from the starter motor (8).
(7)
Put the blanking plugs on the gearbox starter motor mount flange. Subtask 49-42-51-020-056
B.
Removal of the Starter Motor (8KA) (Optional Configuration P/N:
2704506-1/-2).
(1) Slide back the single rubber cover (24) to get access to the starter motor lead terminals.
CAUTION : MAKE MATCH MARKS ON ALL THE ELECTRICAL WIRES BEFORE YOU
_______ DISCONNECT THEM. INCORRECT CONNECTION OF WIRES WILL CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.

Remove the self-lock nuts (17) and (21) and the washers (18) and (20).
(3)
Remove the leads (16) and (22) and the monitor lead (19) from the terminals.
(4)
Remove the V-clamp (7) which attaches the starter motor to the accessory drive gearbox.
(5)
Remove the starter motor (8KA) (14).
(6)
Remove and discard the packing (9) from the starter motor (8KA) (14).
(7)
Put the blanking plugs on the gearbox starter motor mount flange.
