A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1)
Make sure that the aircraft electrical circuits are energized (Ref. TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(2)
On the panel 25VU, make sure that the APU MASTER SW pushbutton switch is off.
(3)
Make sure that there is a warning notice in the cockpit to tell persons not to start the APU.
(4)
Make sure that hydraulic systems are depressurized
(Ref. TASK 29-00-00-864-001).
(5)
Make sure that the access platform is in position below the APU compartment.
(6)
Make sure that the APU access doors are open (Ref. TASK 52-41-00-010-001).
(7)
Make sure that the LIGHT control switch 11LJ is set to the on position.

A. Preparation for Installation
(1)
Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(2)
Do an inspection of the component interface and/or the adjacent area.
(3)
Apply COMMON GREASE (Material No. 04-012) to the new packing (4).
(4)
Install the new packing (4) on the bearing support assembly (3).
(5)
Apply OILS (Material No. 03-002) to the bolts (1) and to the location pin (5).

B. Installation of the Starter Motor Clutch CAUTION : -YOU MUST NOT INCREASE THE TIGHTENING TORQUE MORE THAN THE
_______ MAXIMUM VALUE. -APPLY ALL TIGHTENING TORQUES WITH A TORQUE WRENCH OR A CALIBRATED SCREWDRIVER.

(1)
Push the starter motor clutch (6) into the gearbox.
(2)
Put the bearing support assembly (3) in position on the gearbox and align it with the location pin (5).
(3)
Attach the bearing support assembly (3) on the gearbox with the bolts
(1) and the washers (2).
(4)
TORQUE the bolts (1) by steps in the sequence shown to between 46 and
51 lbf.in (0.51 and 0.57 m.daN).
(5)
Install the starter motor (Ref. TASK 49-42-51-400-003).

(1)
Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tool(s) and other items.
(2)
Set the LIGHT control switch 11LJ to the off position.
