Energize the ground service network
(Ref. TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
(2)
On the panel 25VU, make sure that the APU MASTER SW p/bsw is OFF.
(3)
Put a warning notice in the cockpit to tell persons not to start the APU.
(4)
Make sure that hydraulic systems are depressurized
(Ref. TASK 29-00-00-864-001).

Put the access platform in position below the APU access doors 315AL and 316AR.
(2)
Open the APU access doors 315AL, 316AR (Ref. TASK 52-41-00-010-001).
(3)
Set the LIGHT control SW 11LJ to the ON position.

A. Inspection of the Starter Motor
(1)
If necessary, clean the brush-wear indicator area with CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-002).
(2)
Do a visual check of the brush-wear indicator pin position
(a)
If the red brush wear indicator pin is not visible:
-Replace the starter motor (Ref. TASK 49-42-51-000-004) and (Ref. TASK 49-42-51-400-004).
(b)
If the red brush-wear indicator pin is visible, but there is any sign of oil contamination inside the indicator:
