D. Get Access
(1)
Put the access platform in position below the APU access doors 315AL and 316AR.
(2)
Open the APU access doors 315AL, 316AR (Ref. TASK 52-41-00-010-001).
(3)
Make sure that the light SW 11LJ is set to the ON position.
(4)
Put the container below the Fuel Control Unit (FCU).
4. Procedure

A. Removal of the FCU (8022KM)
(1)
Remove the electrical connector (21) from the fuel-control unit solenoid.
(2)
Remove the electrical connector (22) from the fuel-control unit torque-motor.
(3)
Put blanking caps on the disconnected electrical connectors.
(4)
Remove the L.P. vent and drain valve blanking cap (18).
(5)
Install the ADAPTER - VENT AND DRAIN VALVE, APU (17) to the fuel vent and drain valve (20).
(6)
Drain the unwanted fuel into the container.
(7)
Remove the vent and drain valve adapter and tube (17).
(8)
Remove and discard the lockwire from the fuel inlet line (19).
(9)
Disconnect the fuel inlet line (19) from the APU fuel LP switch 5030QM.
(10)
Disconnect the FCU solenoid fuel line (8) from the FCU solenoid and drain into the container.
(11)
Disconnect the IGVA return fuel line (9) from the FCU (1) and drain into the container.
(12)
Disconnect the IGVA supply fuel line (5) from the FCU (1) and drain into the container.
(13)
Disconnect the drain line (14) from the FCU (8022KM) (1) and drain into the container.
(14)
Put blanking plugs on the disconnected line ends.
(15)
Remove the V-clamp (4) from the (8022KM) FCU.
(16)
Remove the FCU (8022KM) (1) from the lube pump assembly (2).
(17)
Remove and discard the packing (3).
(18)
Remove and discard the lockwire from the adapters (16), (7), (10), and the pipe connector (5).
(19)
Remove the APU fuel LP switch 5030QM from the FCU (8022KM) (1) and discard the packing (15) (Ref. TASK 28-22-14-000-001).
(20)
Remove the FCU solenoid (7) and IGVA return (10).
(21)
Remove the air check valve (12).
(22)
Discard the packing (6), (11) and (13).
(23)
Put blanking plugs on the disconnected line ends.
