A. Replacement of the Resistor (R1)
(1)
Remove the cover (5) from the terminal block of the starter motor.
(2)
Remove the nut (7), the washer (8) and the signal cable (6) from the positive (+) terminal stud. Keep the power cable (9) installed.
(3)
Temporarily install the washer (8) and the nut (7) on the positive (+) terminal stud.
(4)
Be careful and do not damage the electrical wires when you remove and discard the diferent layers of shrinking sleeves (4), (3) and (2).
(5)
Cut off the leads ajacent to the splices SP26 and SP27.
(6)
Strip the wires X011A20 and X011B20 to 9.5 mm (incl. sleeve (1)).
(7)
Installation of resistor (R1)
NOTE : Refer to Detail A on Figure 202.
____
NOTE : For necessary P/Ns refer to APU harness CMM (Ref. CMM 49-11-
____
13).
(a)
Connect wire X011A20 and the lead of new resistor (R1) with splice SP26.
(b)
Apply a piece of sleeve (2) to splice SP26 and shrink the sleeve
(2) with a HOT AIR BLOWER MAX OPERATING 370 DEG C (700 DEG F).
(c)
Connect wire X011B20 and the other lead of new resistor (R1) with splice SP27.
(d)
Apply a piece of sleeve (2) to splice SP27 and shrink the sleeve
(2) with a HOT AIR BLOWER MAX OPERATING 370 DEG C (700 DEG F).
(e)
Install the shrinking sleeves (3) and (4) in sequence and apply heat to each one before you put the next sleeve in position.
