C. Get Access
(1)
Put the access platform in position below the APU access doors 315AL and 316AR.
(2)
Open the APU access doors 315AL, 316AR (Ref. TASK 52-41-00-010-001).
(3)
Set the LIGHT control switch 11LJ to the on position.
4. Procedure

A. Servicing of the Fuel Filter
(1)
Put the container in position below the fuel filter housing (3).
(2)
Loosen the bolts (1) on the fuel filter housing (3).
(3)
Remove the fuel filter housing (3).
(4)
Drain the fuel from the fuel filter housing (3) into the container.
(5)
Remove and discard the O-ring (4) from the fuel filter housing (3).
(6)
Remove and discard the fuel filter (5) from the fuel control unit (8022KM).
(7)
Put blanking plugs on the disconnected line ends.
(8)
Clean the fuel filter housing (3) with FUELS (Material No. 01-002) or FUELS (Material No. 01-003).
WARNING : USE A PROTECTIVE EYE SHIELD/GOGGLES WHEN YOU USE COMPRESSED
_______ AIR. DEBRIS AND/OR HIGH PRESSURE AIR CAN DAMAGE YOUR EYES.
(9) Dry the fuel filter housing (3) with high pressure air.
(10)
Examine the fuel filter housing (3) for damage.
(11)
Examine the bolts (1) and the washers (2) for damage.
(12)
Replace the fuel filter housing (3), the bolts (1) or the washers (2), if necessary.
(13)
Lubricate the new o-ring (6) with FUELS (Material No. 01-002) or FUELS (Material No. 01-003).
(14)
Install the new o-ring (6) on the new fuel filter (5).
(15)
Install the new fuel filter (5) to the fuel control unit (8022KM).
(16)
Lubricate the new o-ring (4) with FUELS (Material No. 01-002) or FUELS (Material No. 01-003).
(17)
Install the new o-ring (4) on the fuel filter housing (3).
(18)
Install the fuel filter housing (3) to the fuel control unit (8022KM).
(19)
Tighten the bolts (1).
(20)
TORQUE the bolts (1) to 0.56 m.daN (49.55 lbf.in).
(21)
If the fuel-filter differential-pressure indicator-plug (7) is extended, push it inwards until it is below the level of its housing.

B. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s): 1QC, 2QC, 3QC, 1KD, 2KD, 1QF, 2QF.

C. Leak Check.
(1)
Purge the APU Fuel Feed Line (Ref. TASK 28-22-00-710-001). NOTE : When the fuel from the drain hose flows out free of air,

release the fuel vent pushbutton.
(2)
Clean and dry the fuel control unit (8022KM) and the filter housing
(3) with a lint free cloth.
(3)
Start the APU and operate it for 5 minutes (Ref. TASK 49-00-00-860-003).
(4)
Stop the APU (Ref. TASK 49-00-00-860-004).
(5)
Examine the fuel control unit (8022KM) and the filter housing for leaks (wet areas).
NOTE : No leaks are permitted.

(1)
Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tool(s) and other items.
(2)
Set the LIGHT control switch 11LJ to the off position.
(3)
Close the APU access doors 315AL, 316AR (Ref. TASK 52-41-00-410-001).
(4)
Remove the access platform(s). Subtask 49-32-11-860-062

Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1)
Pressurize the reservoirs of the hydraulic systems.
