 C. Procedure
 S 864-117
 (1)
Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags and close these circuit breakers:

 (a)  
P7 Overhead Circuit Breaker Panel
 1) 7F8 UPR EICAS
 2) 7F9 EIU L
 3) 7F10 EIU C
 4) 7F14 LWR EICAS
 5) 7F15 EIU R

 (2)  
Close and latch the door.

 (3)  
Install the switch on the support bracket with locknuts.

Connect the electrical wire to the switch.

Push the switch against the actuator to the point where the EICAS message HATCH CREW O'HEAD shows on the synoptic page.

Hold the switch at this position and tighten the switch locknuts with your hand.

Turn the two switch locknuts two full turns clockwise to get the necessary switch overtravel.

Tighten the switch locknuts.

Open and close the door and make sure the switch operates correctly.

 (a)  
Adjust the switch, if it is necessary.


 NOTE: If nusiance warnings occur, up to two additional turns
____ may be made on the switch hex nuts to provide additional plunger depression. If two additional turns cannot be made, adjust the switch to maximum plunger depression.

 PASSENGER DOORS AUTO/MANUAL POSITION INDICATING SYSTEM -

 DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION

General
_______
 A.  The passenger-doors-auto/manual-position-indicating system shows the mode of the main entry and upper deck doors on EICAS.
 B. The system has two switches at each main entry and upper deck door.Switches (Fig. 1)

 A.  Each main entry door has two proximity switches and two switch actuators on the mode selector lever. One switch operates when the lever is in the disarmed (MANUAL/DISARM) position. One switch operates when the lever is in the armed (AUTOMATIC/ARM) position.
 B.  Each upper deck door has two switches.
 (1)  
The auto mode switch is a micro switch with a roller on the end. A cam surface on the arm/disarm lever pushes the roller down when you move the arm/disarm lever to the armed (AUTOMATIC/ARM) position.

 (2)  
The manual position indicating switch is a proximity switch. The proximity switch actuator is on the crank on the lower end of the arm/disarm pushrod. The manual position indicating switch operates when you move the arm/disarm lever to the disarmed (MANUAL/DISARM) position and the actuator moves down.


Operation (Fig. 2)

 A.  Functional Description
 (1)  
The switches, when operated, supply a ground to the Modular Avionic Warning and Electronic Assembly (MAWEA). The MAWEA sends a signal with its data to EICAS. EICAS then shows this data on the doors synoptic page and as memo messages.

 (2)  
The EICAS doors synoptic page shows all door mode selector lever and arm/disarm lever positions. EICAS shows the doors with an M or an A adjacent to them. An M is an indication that the door is in the disarmed (MANUAL/DISARM) position. An A is an indication that the door is the in armed (AUTOMATIC/ARM) position (Fig. 3).
