(2) S 844-017Prepare the door for installation. (a) Clean the areas around the fastener holes. (b) Make sure the bonding jumpers attach to clean areas. 1) Look at the areas where the bonding jumpers attach. 2) If it is necessary, clean the areas where the bonding jumpers attach (Ref 51-24-03/701).
(3) S 424-008Install the door. (a) Put the door in the opening. (b) Install the hinge pins in the hinges. 1) Put a washer on the hinge pin. 2) On the hinge in the center of the door, put the spacers between the segments of the hinge. 3) Push the hinge pin through the aft end of the hinge fitting.
NOTE:____ The head of the pin points aft.
4) 5) 6) Put a washer on the aft end of the hinge pin.Put a nut with castellations on the hinge pin.Do not install a cotter pin in the hinge pin at this time.
(4) S 824-009Adjust the door. (a) Close but do not latch the door. (b) See that the contour of the door aligns with the contour of the fuselage between -0.03 and +0.10 inch. (c) Measure the clearances around the door shown in Fig. 402. 1) Change the shims below the hinges if it is necessary to get the correct clearances. 2) On a new door, remove material from the edges of the door to get the clearances, if it is necessary.
(5) S 014-018Open the door.
(6) S 434-019Install cotter pins on the hinge pins.
(7) S 714-020If the new door has latches, do a check of the latches.
NOTE:____ This is to show that there is not a load on the latches.
(a) (b) Close but do not latch the door.Push at the latch until the the door aligns with the fuselage between -0.03 and +0.10 inch.
