Do these steps to do a test of the snubber:
(c)
The snubber is satisfactory if the time you measure is more than 2.0 seconds.
(d)
If the door does not move smoothly, or the time you measure is less than 2.0 seconds, replace the snubber (Ref 52-36-05/401).
WARNING:_______ STAND AWAY FROM THE DOOR AND THE DOOR OPENING WHEN YOU RELEASE
THE UPLATCH HOOK. WHEN YOU RELEASE THE UPLATCH HOOK, THE DOOR
WILL FALL QUICKLY IF THE SNUBBER IS DEFECTIVE. THIS CAN CAUSE
INJURY TO PERSONNEL.
(a) Release the uplatch hook.
(b) Measure the time until the door hits the pad.
NOTE: It is satisfactory for the door to fall freely up
____ to six inches before the snubber holds it.
