Close and latch the door.

Do a check of the latch adjustment.

 (a)  
Put a 125-150 pound load on the door.


 NOTE: This load will press the seals and simulate a

 pressurized airplane.

 (b)  
Make sure the outer contour of the door aligns with the outer contour of the fuselage (Fig. 402). 1) Move the fittings on the serrations if it is necessary to

 get the correct dimension.

 (c)  
Make sure the clearance between the fitting and the door stop is correct (Fig. 401, Detail C). 1) Put a shim between the door stop and the door if it is


 necessary to get the correct clearance.
 a) Remove the door stop.
 b) Install the shim between the door stop and the door.
 c) Install the door stop.
 d) Tighten the inboard bolts to 20-25 pound-inches.
 e) Tighten the outboard bolts to 25-30 pound-inches.

 (6)  
Do a check of the door fit (Fig. 402).

 (a)  
Make sure the correct clearances are around the door.

 CAUTION:_______DO NOT REMOVE MATERIAL FROM THE DOOR OPENING. THE DOOR OPENING MUST STAY THE SAME DIMENSION.

 (b)  
Remove material from the door if it is necessary to get the correct clearances.

 (c)  
If you remove material, paint the area with alodine (Ref 51-21-04/701).

LIMIT DIMENSIONS FOR CONTOUR


A POSITIVE TOLERANCE GIVES AN INDICATION THAT THE DOOR IS OUTSIDE THE CONTOUR OF THE BODY SKIN. A NEGATIVE TOLERANCE GIVES AN INDICATION THAT THE DOOR IS INSIDE THE CONTOUR OF THE BODY SKIN.

 (7)  S 724-021Do a check of the door operation. (a) Move the door along the track. (b) See that the door moves smoothly and easily.
 (8)  S 864-013Supply electrical power (Ref 24-22-00/201).
 (9)  S 714-014Do a test of the door warning switch. (a) Open the door. (b) See that DOOR ELEC MAIN shows on EICAS. (c) Close and lock the door. (d) See that DOOR ELEC MAIN does not show on EICAS.

 Remove electrical power if it is not necessary (Ref 24-22-00/201).

 Do a check of the flushness of the door skin (Fig. 402)

 (a)  
Use a non-permanent marker to make 3 equally spaced locator marks on the forward edge of the door. Make sure the outboard marks are on the forward tangent point of the door corners.

 (b)  
Use a non-permanent marker to make 3 equally spaced locator marks on the aft edge of the door. Make sure the outboard marks are on the aft tangent point of the door corners.

 (c)  
Make sure the door is closed.

 (d)  
Measure and record the distance between the door skin and the fuselage skin at each of the 6 location marks.

 (e)  
If any of the 6 flushness measurements is not in the range shown in Fig. 402, use the Aero-Averaging method to determine if the flushness deviation is acceptable. 1) Use Table 401 to determine a drag value for each of the
