C. Install the refueling access door (Fig. 201)
S 282-004
(1)
Do a check of the abrasion resistant finish on the skin panels near the access door.
S 382-005

If it is necessary, put a new finish on the surfaces with abrasion teflon coating (Ref 51-24-04/701).

Install the refueling access door.
(a)
Put the refueling access door in the correct position.
(b)
Align the holes in the hinge with the holes in the leading edge structure.
(c)
Install the fasteners loosely in the holes.
(d)
If you install a new, replacement door, remove the unwanted material from the aft edge of the door if it is necessary.
NOTE: It is not necessary to remove the skin around the edges
____ of the door when you install the initial door. It can be necessary to remove the unwanted skin around the aft edge of the door when you install a new, replacement door.
(e)
Close the door and hold it in the correct position.
(f)
Adjust the clearance between the skin panels and the door to
0.06 inch (0.12 max/0.01 min).
(g)
Adjust the door to be smoothly aligned in 0.02 inch or less.
(h)
Tighten the fasteners which attach the hinge to the leading edge structure to 25-35 pound-inches.
(i)
Attach the bonding jumpers between the access door and the stiffener.
(j)
Make sure the door latch lands at 2 locations.
(k)
Remove 0.003-inch laminations to make sure the door latch is firmly against the latch plate when the door is in the closed and latched position.

Make sure the latch and latch plate are touching and there is no free play between the parts (View A-A, Fig. 201).
(m)
Make sure the latch overlap dimension meets the specified requirements (Fig. 201).
(n)
Latch the door firmly in position.

(4) If the fueling control panel access door was installed, do a check of the fueling power control switch operation per 28-21-04/401.

DOOR WARNING SYSTEM - DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION

1. General_______
A. The door warning system consists of an electrical circuit which provides the flight crew with a visual warning on EICAS if certain doors are open or incompletely latched. The doors included in this system are those shown in the door warning schematic.
2. Operation_________
A. Functional Description
(1)
Each door in the system has plunger-type limit switch(s) mounted on it. Each switch, when the door is open or unlatched, provides a ground to the EICAS Interface Unit (EIU) which generates a corresponding EICAS message to be displayed.
