CAUTION:_______MAKE SURE THE HEAD OF THE BOLT POINTS UP. THE BOLT CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE CABLE IF YOU INSTALL IT INCORRECTLY.
2) Install the cable bolt with the head up.
(c) Connect the cable that comes from the cable drum to the door.

(5) Lift the door a short distance.
NOTE: Do this to compress the springs in the spring tube

WARNING: MAKE SURE ALL CABLES ARE ATTACHED BEFORE YOU REMOVE THE
_______ SAFETY PIN OR THE CABLE RESTRAINING TOOL. IF YOU REMOVE THE SAFETY PIN OR THE CABLE RESTRAINING TOOL THE CABLE CAN MOVE QUICKLY. IF THE CABLE MOVES QUICKLY IT CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONNEL.

Remove the cable restraining tool or the safety pin, if they are installed.

If there is a wood block inside the spring tube, remove it as follows.
(a)
Remove the two Hi-Loks from the forward end of the spring tube.
(b)
Remove the clamp at the center of the spring tube.
(c)
Turn the tube until it is sufficiently clear of the floor beam to remove the block.
(d)
Remove the cover from the end of the spring tube.
(e)
Remove the wood block.

Install the cover on the end of the spring tube.
(g)
Turn the spring tube to its correct position.
(h)
Install the Hi-Loks at the forward end of the spring tube.
(i)
Install the clamp.

Lower the door.

Do a test of the balance mechanism.
(a)
Disconnect the snubber from the door.
WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU OPERATE THE DOOR WITH THE
_______ SNUBBER DISCONNECTED. IF THE BALANCE MECHANISM IS DEFECTIVE , THE DOOR CAN QUICKLY CLOSE. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONNEL.
(b)
Use a spring scale on the door handle to open and close the door. 1) Make sure the force that is necessary to open the door is
not more than 25 pounds. 2) Make sure the force that is necessary to close the door is not more than 5 pounds.
(c)
Adjust the balance mechanism if it is necessary: 1) Remove the cover from the end of the spring tube. 2) Turn the nut that holds the cable to change the force you
use to open the door. 3) Install the cover on the end of the spring tube.
(d)
Connect the snubber to the forward door hinge.

4. Do a Check of the Bulk Cargo Door Counterbalance

Do a test of the balance mechanism.
(a)
Disconnect the snubber from the door.
