2) If the aluminum foil does not show signs of leakage, remove the wire and the aluminum foil from the flexible ball joint and look at the lockwire installation. a) IF LOCKWIRE IS INSTALLED;
If the lockwire is broken or missing, replace the lockwire (AMM 20-11-28/401).
F. Put the Airplane Back to Its Usual Condition

(1) Close the left thrust reverser half (AMM 78-31-00/201).

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT PERSONNEL AND EQUIPMENT ARE CLEAR OF TE AND LE
_______ FLAPS BEFORE YOU MOVE THE FLAP CONTROL LEVER. WITH HYDRAULIC POWER OFF, TRAILING EDGE FLAPS WILL MOVE AUTOMATICALLY BY ELECTRICAL POWER WHEN THE FLAP CONTROL LEVER IS MOVED.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE INBOARD FAN COWL PANELS AND INBOARD REVERSER HALVES
_______ FOR NO. 1 AND 4 ENGINES ARE LOWERED PRIOR TO LEADING EDGE FLAP OPERATION. FAILURE TO DO SO MAY RESULT IN DAMAGE TO ENGINE COWLING OR THRUST REVERSER HALVES.
(2)
Retract the leading edge flaps (AMM 27-81-00/201).

Do the activation procedure for the thrust reversers
(AMM 78-31-00/201).
(4)
Remove electrical power if it is not necessary (AMM 24-22-00/201).

PNEUMATIC DUCT - CLEANING/PAINTING

1. General_______
A. This procedure contains three tasks. Each task has instructions to clean a different type of duct.
B. There are three types of ducts on the airplanes:
(1)
Corrosion Resistant Steel (CRES) ducts
(2)
Bare titanium ducts
(3)
Gold-coated Titanium ducts
C.
Corrosion resistant steel ducts are found in the APU area (section 48) of the airplane.
D.
Bare titanium ducts are found in the engine struts and compartment, wing leading edge, air conditioning bay, and behind the sidewall linings in the aft and bulk cargo compartment of the airplane.
E.
Gold-coated titanium ducts are found in the wheel well area for the main landing gears.
F.
Refer to AMM 21-00-01/201 to do the Air Conditioning System Oil Contamination Removal procedure should oil fumes and smoke from an APU/engine failure gets into the cabin and cause contamination to the conditioned air.
G.
Titanium ducts (bare and gold-coated) must be inspected and cleaned if touched by hydraulic fluid. Replacement may be required.
