B. Prepare to Remove the Duct Section

(1)
Release the pressure from the pneumatic system (AMM 36-00-00/201).

(2)
If it is necessary, extend the leading edge flaps of the wing (AMM 27-81-00/201).
(3)
Remove all of the duct support equipment from the duct section.
(4)
Loosen the clamp nut.
(5)
Remove the V-band couplings.

Remove the duct section.
(a)
Remove and discard the E-seals or gaskets.
(7)
Put a cover on each open duct section to keep out unwanted objects.

Install the Duct Section

Make sure that the new duct section and the adjacent duct sections do not contain unwanted objects.

Install a gasket or an E-seal in the duct flange.

Put the duct section in the correct position.
(a)
Hold the duct section in its position with a V-band coupling clamp.

(4) Tighten the V-band coupling clamp to 70-80 pound-inches (7.9-9.0 N.m).

Gain access to applicable duct sections; open engine cowl panels or fan reverser assemblies, remove access panels or extend leading edge flaps as applicable (AMM 71-11-06/201, 78-31-00/201, 06-09-08/201, 27-81-00/201).

Remove all the duct support hardware or antirotation springs which may be attached to the flexible joint retainer assemblies.

Remove the T-bolt which secures the low profile retainer.

Open the retainer halves and remove retainer.

Support the duct section to be removed.
(a)
Slide the seal sleeve axially along the duct until the two seals are exposed.

Remove the duct section.

Put a cover on each open duct section to keep out unwanted objects.

Remove the seals from the ducts and discard seals.
