Make sure the HPSOV is closed.
(a)
Make sure the HPSOV is closed by visually inspecting the position switch.
(b)
If the valve is not closed then replace the HPSOV
(AMM 36-11-05/401).
(c)
Make sure the HPSOV shows CLOSED on the ECS maintenance page.
(d)
If the valve does not indicate CLOSED on the ECS maintenance page, troubleshoot the position switch and/or wiring.

Test the HPSOV and the HPC operation.
(a)
Disconnect the high pressure tube at the HPC and install the 90 degree test fitting to the HPC high stage port.
NOTE: The high stage port is labeled HP on the HPC.
(b)
Remove the locking pin from the HPSOV actuator and install the actuator fitting to the HPSOV actuator. As an alternative, remove the signal pressure sense line at the actuator and install a tee fitting between the actuator and sense line.
(c)
Connect one end of the supply pressure (red) hose to the supply port on the test box and the other end to the 90 degree test fitting on the HPC high stage port.
(d)
Connect one end of the reference pressure (blue) hose to the reference pressure port on the test box and the other end to the actuator fitting or tee fitting.
(e)
Make sure the engine bleed switch located on the overhead panel is ON.

Do these steps to do a test of the HPC PHH pressure switch operation using input monitoring:
(a)
Display the input monitoring page on the CMC by selecting the following: 1) MENU 2) OTHER FUNCTIONS (Page 2 of the CMC menu) 3) INPUT MONITORING
(b)
Type in the following depending on the engine number being tested 1) For engine 1 type in: E/40/352/10 2) For engine 2 type in: E/40/352/01 3) For engine 3 type in: E/40/352/11 4) For engine 4 type in: E/40/352/00
(c)
Make sure bit 16 (PHH switch) is 1, with zero supply pressure.
(d)
Use the 'HIGH PRESSURE SUPPLY' gauge on the test box.
(e)
Increase the supply pressure to 115 psig. After 115 psig, slowly increase pressure, (1 psi/second) until bit 16 changes to 0.
