C. Procedure

CAUTION:_______SLOWLY PUT THE DUCT ASSEMBLY ON THE COMPENSATOR SHAFT. IF YOU DO NOT PUT THE DUCT ASSEMBLY ON SLOWLY, THE INTERNAL SEALS OF THE PRESSURE COMPENSATOR FITTING CAN BE DAMAGED.
(1)
Put the duct assembly on the compensator shaft.
(a)
Slowly move the assembly forward through the firewall fitting until it is in the pressure compensator fitting.
NOTE: The pressure compensator fitting is installed forward of
____
the firewall.

Tighten the clamp at the duct-to-firewall joint to a maximum of 20 pound-inches (2.26 N.m).

Put the pressure compensator piston and the retainer on the
compensator shaft.
(a)
Install the retaining nut and the washer.

Install the assembly for the pressure compensator on the end of the duct which points in the rearward direction.

(5)
Set the top clamp.
(a)
Tighten the clamp to 90-100 pound-inches (10.17-11.30 N.m).

Examine the door latches for the trailing edge fairing (Ref 54-62-02/501).
(a)
Make sure there are no cracks and wear.
(b)
Make sure all of the latch assemblies are installed.
(c)
Repair and adjust the latches if it is necessary.
D. Put the Airplane To Its Usual Condition

CAUTION: MAKE SURE THE DOORS FOR THE TRAILING EDGE FAIRING ARE LATCHED
_______ CORRECTLY. IF THE DOORS ARE NOT LATCHED CORRECTLY, THEY CAN COME OPEN DURING FLIGHT AND CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT.
(1) Close the doors for the trailing edge fairing (Ref 54-62-00/201).
