C. Install the Duct Section
S 024-092
(1)
Remove the covers from the three adjacent duct sections.
S 434-093
(2)
Put the T-duct section into position for installation with the adjacent duct sections.
S 214-090
(3)
Make sure that the center of the duct located inboard of the T-duct is 13.0 + 1.0/-0.6 inches from the wing leading edge front spar.
(a)
Adjust the duct support rods, if necessary.
S 434-094
(4)
Install the rigid joint clamp on the inboard side of the T-duct to the adjacent duct section.
(a)
Tighten the nut between 60 to 85 pound-inches.
S 434-095
(5) Install the flexible joint clamp on the T-duct to the adjacent outboard duct section.
D. Make sure that the ducts and coupling are not preloaded.
S 214-165
(1)
Rotate the retainer assembly about the axis of the duct by hand pressure (hand spin check).
(a)
If you can rotate the retainer assembly a full turn by hand pressure only, the retainer installation is acceptable.
(b)
If you are not able to rotate the retainer assembly by hand pressure for a full turn, remove the retainer from the duct assembly. 1) Make sure that gap between the ducts does not exceed the
"A" dimension requirement on Fig. 402. 2) Make sure that the duct center lines are in axial alignment to within 0.06 inches.

3) If either one of these conditions cannot be met, adjust the ducts and the adjacent duct supports as necessary to eliminate the preload condition.
S 414-114
(2) Install the retainer assembly and do a hand spin check again.
S 434-096
(3) Install the anti-rotation device clamp on the inboard side of the adjacent duct section. (a) Position the anti-rotation device to provide maximum clearance for the coupling from the wire bundles, hydraulic and fuel lines, or structures. 1) Locate the mounting studs on the clamp such that they are 3.25 to 3.50 inches from the hole in the coupling for proper spring tension. 2) Tighten the clamp and install the springs.
S 434-102
(4) Install the flexible clamp between the strut duct and the T-duct.
S 434-103
(5) Install the spring for the anti-rotation device to the flexible joint clamp.
S 414-097
(6) Install the applicable wing upper surface access panel (511CT, 611CT) (AMM 06-09-08/201).
