Prepare to Remove the Check Valve

WARNING: YOU MUST RELEASE THE PRESSURE IN THE PNEUMATIC DUCT BEFORE YOU
_______ REMOVE A PNEUMATIC SYSTEM COMPONENT. IF YOU DO NOT RELEASE THE PRESSURE FIRST, HOT HIGH PRESSURE AIR CAN CAUSE INJURIES TO PERSONS.
(1)
Release the pressure in the pneumatic system (Ref 36-00-00/201).
(2)
Put the APU bleed air switch to the CLOSED position.

Open the access door 193AL (AMM 06-09-03/201).

Remove the Check Valve

(1) AIRPLANES WITH 9036-5-2 CHECK VALVES;
Do the steps that follow:
NOTE:____The 9036-5-2 check valve does not have a flange. The flange is a separate part. See flagnote 1 (Figure 401) for the 9036-5-2 check valve.
(a)
Remove the lockwire from the housing of the check valve.
(b)
Turn the valve housing counterclockwise.
(c)
Remove the check valve.

AIRPLANES WITHOUT 9036-5-2 CHECK VALVES;
Do the steps that follow:
(a)
Open the access panel 191ML (AMM 06-09-03/201).
(b)
Remove the nuts and washers from the bolts.
(c)
Remove the check valve.

(3) Put a cover on the open duct to keep out unwanted material.
