 13. Wing Leading Edge Flap Drive Duct Clamp - Installation (Fig. 405)______________________________________________________
 A. General
 (1)  
This procedure contains a task to install a low profile ductclamp on the pneumatic flap drive duct for engine 1 and 4 at the wing leading edge to prevent interference/chafing condition with the fuel line. The low profile duct clamp does not use a T-bolt to lock the clamp.

Prepare to Install the Low Profile Clamp

 WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE LEADING EDGE FLAP SAFETY LOCKS ARE INSTALLED
_______ BEFORE YOU DO WORK ADJACENT TO THE LEADING EDGE FLAPS. OPERATION OF THE LEADING EDGE FLAPS CAN CAUSE INJURY AND DAMAGE.
 MAKE SURE THAT PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE CLEAR OF THE LE AND TE FLAPS AND FLAP DRIVE MECHANISMS BEFORE YOU MOVE THE FLAP CONTROL LEVER. WITH HYDRAULIC POWER REMOVED, THE FLAPS WILL MOVE AUTOMATICALLY BY ELECTRICAL POWER WHEN YOU MOVE THE FLAP CONTROL LEVER.
 (1) Extend and lock the wing leading edge flaps (AMM 27-81-00/201).

Release the pressure in the pneumatic system (AMM 36-00-00/201).

Remove applicable upper outboard nacelle gap cover (521FT, 621FT) to get access to the work area in the engine strut number 1 or 4 (AMM 06-09-08/201).

Get access to the duct retainer clamp which connects the wing leading edge flap drive duct to the pneumatic duct.

Check to see if the low profile clamp is installed at the pneumatic flap drive duct.

 (a)  
If the low profile clamp assembly is not installed, then it is necessary to get a low profile clamp assembly, which consist of a sleeve and a retainer assembly complete this procedure.


 F. Install the Low Profile Clamp

 (1)  
Remove and discard the high profile clamp with a T-bolt, if it is installed.

Make sure that the centerline of the flap drive duct is axial alignment to the duct boss on the pneumatic duct.

 (3)  
Replace the seals.

 (a)  
Remove the two used seals.

 (b)  
Lubricate the seal retainer grooves only with a clean, soft, lint-free cloth.


 NOTE: Do not lubricate the seal or the seal surfaces.
