Prepare to Remove the Duct

 (1)  Supply electrical power (Ref 24-22-00/201).

 WARNING: YOU MUST RELEASE THE PRESSURE IN THE PNEUMATIC DUCT BEFORE YOU
_______ REMOVE A PNEUMATIC SYSTEM COMPONENT. IF YOU DO NOT RELEASE THE PRESSURE, HOT HIGH PRESSURE AIR CAN CAUSE INJURIES TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
 (2)  
Release the pressure in the duct between the applicable engine and the wing isolation valve (Ref 36-00-00/201).

Look at the EICAS MAINT PAGE for 21 ECS.

 (a)  
Make sure the DUCT PRESS shown is 0 psig.

Open the right and left trailing edge fairing doors (AMM 54-62-00/201).

Procedure


 S 034-006
 (1)  Disconnect the support rod from the duct.
 NOTE: Keep the rod attached to the firewall.

Disconnect the pneumatic tube for the hydraulic system from the duct.

 (3)  
Remove the top coupling.

 (4)  
Remove the assembly for the pressure compensator cap.

 (5)  
Remove the retaining nut and the washer from the assembly for the pressure compensator.

 (a)  
Keep the retaining nut and the washer.

Remove the piston and the retainer from the compensator shaft.

 (7)  
Loosen the clamp on the rubber boot assembly.

 (8)  
Move the duct rearward from the firewall fitting until the rod assembly for the pressure compensator is disconnected from the duct.
