4. APU Pneumatic Duct Audible Leakage Check

A. General
(1) This procedure examines the general condition and duct joint leakage of pneumatic ducts between the APU and APU check valve. Access to the ducts are required to do the audible and visual inspections. A ground air source is required to do the audible leakage check.
B. Special Tools and Equipment
(1)
Part Number: TE65B98600 Quantity: 1 Purpose: The block-out plate is to prevent the backflow of air to
the APU.
(2)
Part Number: 2TE65B07917 Quantity: 1 Purpose: The duct section is to replace the APU check valve.
(3)
Ground air source that can provide clean air at a regulated pressure of 70 pounds/min and 45 psig. Connection must mate with a 3-inch diameter pneumatic ground service fitting.

Supply the electrical power (AMM 24-22-00/201).

Put these switches on the P5 overhead panel to the closed position:

Remove the first coupling forward of the APU firewall from the APU duct.

WARNING: MAKE SURE THE BLOCK-OFF PLATE IS INSTALLED CORRECTLY AND MAKE
_______ SURE THAT THE DUCT SECTION CANNOT MOVE WHEN YOU PRESSURIZE IT. IF THE DUCT SECTION CAN MOVE WHEN IT IS PRESSURIZED, IT CAN CAUSE INJURIES TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.

Install the TE65B98600 block-off plate on the forward end of the duct joint.

Open the aft cargo door (AMM 52-34-00/001).
