Make sure that all the FUEL CONTROL switches on the control stand are set to the CUTOFF position.

Make sure all of the override/jettison pump switches on the fuel management control module, (P5 pilots' overhead panel) are off (the white ON indication light in each pump switch does not show).

Make sure all of the crossfeed valve switches on the fuel management control module (P5 pilots' overhead panel) are off (the white flowbar indication light in each crossfeed valve switch does not show).

Make sure that the FUEL JETTISON control selector switch on the fuel jettison module, (P5 pilots' overhead panel) is in the OFF position.

Fuel Jettison Control Card Operational Test

(1)
Use one of these two procedures to start the fuel jettison control card A and B BITE:
(a)
Open these circuit breakers for a minimum of 5 minutes:
NOTE: If you close the circuit breakers after a five minute
____ power interruption, fuel jettison control card A and B BITE will start.
1) On the main power distribution panel, P6: a) 6C17, FUEL JTSN CONT B b) 6D17, FUEL JTSN CONT A
(b) Or, ground the FJCC A and FJCC B jacks found on the front of the M7852 fuel system card file.
NOTE:____This procedure starts the BITE immediately. It is not necessary to stop for five minutes.

WARNING: MAKE SURE THE WHITE ON INDICATION LIGHT IN EACH JETTISON
_______ NOZZLE VALVE SWITCH DOES NOT SHOW. A WHITE ON INDICATION LIGHT SHOWS THAT THE NOZZLE VALVES ARE OPEN. IF THE FUEL JETTISON NOZZLE VALVES ARE OPEN, FUEL CAN FLOW FROM THE WING TIPS AT THE JETTISON NOZZLES. A FUEL LEAK CAN CAUSE INJURIES TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(8) Make sure the FUEL JETTISON L-NOZZLE and NOZZLE-R switches on the fuel jettison module (P5 pilots' overhead panel) are closed (the white ON indication light in each switch does not show).
