(1)
Remove the measuring stick from the housing (AMM 28-44-01/401).

Defuel the applicable fuel tank (AMM 28-26-00/201).

WARNING: OBEY ALL FUEL TANK PRECAUTIONS FOR OPEN FUEL TANKS
_______ (AMM 28-11-00/201). IF YOU ARE NOT CAREFUL, IGNITION OF FUEL GAS COULD OCCUR.
CAUTION: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU REMOVE THE HOUSING OF THE MEASURING STICK.
_______ THE HOUSING IS MADE OF FIBERGLASS MATERIAL AND CAN BE EASILY DAMAGED IF YOU BEND IT.

With the hex wrench, loosen and lower the housing through the mounting base.

Remove the fuel tank access door with the housing from the airplane (AMM 28-11-02/401).
NOTE: Be careful not to bend the housing during the removal of the

fuel tank access door.

(5) Remove the spring pin which holds the upper float stop on the housing.

Remove the upper float stop and float from the housing.

Remove the housing through the mounting base on the fuel tank access door.
