Make sure the fuel tanks contain these fuel quantities:


 NOTE: At different pitch and roll attitudes the fuel quantity

 NOTE: The inboard main tanks, No. 2 and No. 3 must not be full
____ (at VTO). If a fuel tank is full (at VTO) the refuel valve(s) for that tank will not operate electrically.
 (a) The No. 2 and No. 3 reserve tanks and the No. 1 and No. 4 outboard main tanks can contain some quantity of fuel.

 (b)  No. 2 and No. 3 main tanks - minimum of 12,500 lbs (5700 kgs)
 of fuel.

 (c)  Center wing tank - maximum of 60,000 lbs (27,200 kgs) and a
 minimum of 15,000 lbs (6800 kgs) of fuel.

If the fuel quantity is not sufficient, refuel the tank(s) (AMM 12-11-01/301) or move fuel from a different tank (AMM 28-26-00/201) if it is necessary.

 Make sure that the FUEL JETTISON control selector switch on the fuel jettison module, (P5 pilots' overhead panel) is in the OFF position.

 WARNING: MAKE SURE YOU DO THE STEPS TO REMOVE POWER FROM THE JETTISON
_______ NOZZLE VALVE ACTUATORS. IF THE POWER TO THE JETTISON NOZZLE VALVE ACTUATORS IS NOT REMOVED, THE NOZZLE VALVES WILL OPEN. WITH THE NOZZLE VALVES OPEN, FUEL PRESSURIZED BY THE JETTISON PUMPS CAN FLOW FROM THE WINGTIPS AT THE JETTISON NOZZLES. A FUEL LEAK FROM THE JETTISON NOZZLES CAN CAUSE INJURIES TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
 (11)
 Do these steps to make sure the power is removed from the jettison nozzle valve actuators (SSM 28-31-03, WDM 28-31-13).

 (a)  
Make sure these circuit breakers are closed:

 1)  On the main power distribution panel, P6: a) 6C18, JTSN NOZZLE VLV CONT R b) 6D18, JTSN NOZZLE VLV CONT L

 (b)  
Make sure the FUEL JETTISON L-NOZZLE and NOZZLE-R switches on the fuel jettison module (P5 pilots' overhead panel) are in the off position (the white ON indication light in each switch does not show).

 (c)  
Open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:

 1)  On the P6 panel: a) 6C18, JTSN NOZZLE VLV CONT R b) 6D18, JTSN NOZZLE VLV CONT L

 (d)  
Remove these access doors to get to the actuators for the jettison nozzle valves: 1) 556BA Wingtip Dry Bay Access Door 2) 656BA Wingtip Dry Bay Access Door
